Subway Stop For Short Novels & Stories

Daniel waves, ushering me to his car. “Where are we going?” I yawn. “Subway, just getting some real lunch” He smiles, pulling out of the schools parking lot. Subway is very close to our school so it took almost 5 minutes. “Hey man” Daniel says to the guy at the counter. He quickly orders for the both of us and we grab drinks. “Want to eat it at school or here?” He asks. “We can eat at school” I say, looking into Daniel’s eyes.

Jesse shrugged and pouted his mouth, trying to find a perfectly reasonable explanation for K's question. "Well, I love taking the subway," he started. "And the NYC cab service is really convenient. But what I really love about taking the daily commute is, how I can observe people. But not in a creepy way, just merely... seeing through them. How they all look so tired and bored of their customary lives. And sometimes, if I get really lucky, I get to watch really good performers doing acts on the train. I give them my business card and call out a meeting, I've even struck a record deal once. It's - it's really fascinating. Makes me feel like I'm somehow... grounded, and connected, to the world

And under their relentless pressure, strands of steel wire finally broke with loud snaps. With nothing left to stop them, the zombie horde burst through, sprinting forward. Fresh, warm, living humans ahead! Dinner time! "Run!" Hayley shouted orders as everyone sprinted. As she ran along the tracks, her mind rapidly mapped out the subway layout. She remembered the next station wasn't far. It was only about two miles away. This was basically a two-mile mini-marathon. Go!

“Drive safely, and let me know when you get home.” “Sure,” Brett nodded, and then they parted ways. Brett headed towards the parking lot while Emma made her way to the subway. The area where she lived was strategically located, with easy access to buses and subways. After exiting the subway station, Emma did not have to walk very far to reach her apartment complex. “Excuse me, have you seen a small boy around four or five years old?” A distressed young woman in her late teens asked as she approached Emma. Emma paused and shook her head. “Sorry, I haven’t seen him.”

As I watch the road leading to the apartment, I see a SUV come to stop in front of it, before turning in, and someone I've been thinking about since last night steps out of the driver's seat. "Shortcake!" I yell from where I stand. She glances up, shielding her eyes from the sun, before giving me a frown. "You might wanna put some clothes on, you're giving the entire neighborhood a free show."

"What are you hearing over all that noise?" "Just wait." Lina closed her eyes. The voice was deep under the static. It was in pieces. Then one word came through. It was clear and cold. Subway. Lina pulled the headphones off and dropped them on the desk. "You get a location or a street name?" Sophia asked. "He said subway," Lina said. "He was very specific about that." "He gave you just the one word and nothing else?" Marvin asked. "One word is enough if you know where to look."

Ashley sat next to her; "When are we leaving?" "They said 1:00" Ashley said, "The subway is out of service then. " "We can take a taxi." Vivian said, "or take the bus, but I don't know what time the latest ride of No. 888 is." Ashley couldn't accept the smell in the box, or it may be because she has had a few glasses of wine and felt a little nauseous. "I'll go back first. I can't stay up all night."

To cool down my head, walking with no destination in mind, I ended up in Summer street, a popular area with new establishments built in the city. It’s just a ten minute walk from 14th Street. This is the first time I’ve been here for a walk and I am not familiar with this area. Maybe coming here to have a breather is a good change of pace.

“Near the bus stop.” Thomas’s knees almost buckled. The world tilted. “The bus stop,” she demanded, voice steady even as her grip trembled. “Which route?” “The 42. Heads into downtown LA.” “Where does it terminate?” Piper pressed. The officer checked his phone. “Main terminal is Union Station.” Piper and Thomas locked eyes. “Union Station,” they said at the exact same second. Piper already had her phone out, dialing with shaking fingers. “Maribel? Are you still at the station area? Listen—there’s a little boy, five years old, brown hair, probably carrying a backpack. Is he there?”

"Do you have something strong here to drink?" "Uh, you mean beer?" "I mean liquor." "In that case you should check The Subway." "What's that?" "It's a club," he says, and consults his watch. "Five fifteen now. Should be up and running already. It's just down this street. Walk out and turn right. Can't miss it if you keep your eyes straight." I nod. "Thank you." "Is everything alright, miss? You look like you've been through a lot." "I just need to clear my head."
