Dreamt My Alpha Mate
A deeper, brutal split, jagging across the silver.
I pushed forward blindly, every step echoing too loud, too slow. My vision blurred, edges glinting as if aurora had bloomed around every torch. Golden rings shimmered and then collapsed into jagged lines.
Inside the parchment, there was no portrait, no dried flowers. Instead, folded so small it should have been impossible, was a torn scrap of parchment. My pulse skipped, then pounded as I tugged it free.
The ink was old, smudged, but I recognized the rune immediately. Severing Moon. The same rune the elders had accused me of corrupting. But this wasn’t whole. Half of the sigil was missing, torn down the center.
