Novel & Cerita Summer Reading Challenge

Well, maybe I shall heal in time. A heavy sigh escapes my lungs, marveling the long night awaits. I know I won't easily get asleep right now, I usually don't, and it's only two a.m. Damn my life! I take a deep yawn while grabbing the bottle of water from the nightstand and gulp a bit. "Ah, that's better," I breathe, my throat refreshed. Fully aware of the resentment I have towards sweating, the summer has decided to grant me a vengeful visit. I quickly get up and turn on the fan, which allows my body to cool off gradually. The L.A heat is no joke this year.

Camping is usually the most popular holiday choice for people because in summer, many plants thrive and flowers bloom beautifully. “We'll be living in Calvin's wooded house all summer break. Emily can't wait to go on a jungle adventure with Calvin. Especially since Calvin said about a small river that has a lot of fish in the middle of the woods, she became excited to go there and fish with Calvin's traditional fishing rod.” “Sounds like fun. How about his work?" "With federation you mean?"

The weather was just too hot outside. Charlotte creased her nose. She was not too happy about it, but she did not throw a tantrum. After breakfast, Summer went to the place that she and Dean had agreed to meet at. Summer could feel heat waves hitting her face in the late morning, even before noon. She felt as if she was inside a steamer and her back was sweating profusely after walking for just a while.

Summer pretended not to see Howe and directly went to the counter to participate in the competition. But Howe shouted behind her, "Summer, don't be so heartless. We're relatives, after all. At least say hi to me." Say hi to him? Summer didn't have the time. Plus, she was too stressed thinking about how to get a high score in the third level. She didn't have time to humor Howe. Continuing to pretend that she didn't see him, Summer didn't speak to him at all. But he seemed a bit persistent, sticking to her like a leech. "Summer, how many points do you have now? Do you want to see how many points I have?"

Serenity said to him, “Let’s jog two more rounds. After Sonny wakes up, we can have breakfast together and Jim will send him to his lesson afterward. It’s going to be summer break soon. My bookshop will close for two months during then.” “Babe, what are your plans for the summer holidays?” In the past summer holidays, she would travel and explore the nature of the country. “Summer holidays are for students. Office workers like me have no summer holidays.” While jogging, Zachary said with a smile, “If there’s anywhere you’d like to visit, let me know. I’ll start working overtime from now on. Once summer break is here, I can go on an outing with you.” “Yeah. I’m occupied now too, unlike in the

“Dad’s just in shock from the ‘state’ of the camp. Half-naked boys and you in a bikini.” Understanding flickered in her eyes, and she laughed. “There’s a lake right near the camp, Mr. Hart. It’s a welcome-back-to-summer theme. We don’t walk around half-naked all the time.” She smirked. “No matter how tempting it is.” I nearly choked. *Jesus, Stacy.* It took two supervisors to assure my dad that I would survive the summer. Even then, he left me with a list of *don’ts*, *don’t even think about its*, and enough kisses to make me want to crawl into my grave.

“Old women here still call it by name. Tidewalker. They say it remembers blood. And it remembers when to come back.” A gust of hot wind rolled through the parking lot, carrying the smell of the ocean. Even a mile inland, it stung like salt. Jake swallowed. “And it’s a heatwave this week.” Sarah didn’t answer. She didn’t need to. The forecast on his phone said 98°F by Thursday. Across the lot, the cove glimmered under the sun. Too still. Too quiet. Suddenly there was an outburst, a good number of students hurrying out of school, all of them moving in one direction toward the lower fields. Voices overlapped — half questions, half panic.

As summer arrived, the Bloodmoon and Silverpine Packs embraced the warmth and vibrancy of the season. The air was filled with the sounds of laughter, the rustle of leaves, and the distant calls of birds. With the success of their earlier workshops still fresh in their minds, Leo and Elara planned a series of summer activities designed to celebrate their growing bond and enhance their skills together. The first summer event was a “Nature Olympics,” a friendly competition that would include various challenges and games inspired by the natural world. Leo and Elara wanted to create an atmosphere of fun and teamwork, where everyone could showcase their abilities while encouraging one another.

The third of July bonfire has been a tradition since childhood. Summer glanced up from the wicker chair she was curled in, looking past me instead of at me. The mention of Jenny's name should have pulled some reaction from her, but no. Nothing. Summer liked Jenny, always had. Well, maybe more like tolerated her. Jenny was a local woman I hooked up with once a year while we were on vacation. Nothing serious, friendly even. Of course, I didn't plan on sleeping with her this trip, not after everything with Summer, but Jenny had hung around our circle since we were teens and to leave her out felt unnecessary.

“Now, we have our usual summer booth camp during summer school. For those joining us for the first time, it's practice every single day for at least four hours with breaks in between for those who have grades to catch up with. Your grades are important because you paid to school here for that kind of education. We will be having visitors from the neighboring packs during this program. We have a three week intensive training which would be rotated between the coaches from the other school to give me a break from screaming at all of you all the time. The cheerleaders are here because they have to work on their own program and anyone who wants to work with us but not on the team is free to meet
