With just seven days left until the college entrance exam, the high school's PA system suddenly crackled to life during the morning break. “My name is Lily Smith. I’m a senior. Before I graduate, I’d like to confess my feelings to my crush.” Inside the classroom, every eye instantly locked onto Jack. The room exploded into rowdy cheers and teasing. Jack felt his face burn as his heart hammered against his ribs. After all, he had spent three whole years cracking jokes to help his childhood friend, Lily, overcome the deep dark pit of her depression. On her eighteenth birthday, she had even initiated their first kiss. “You were the light that pulled me out of the darkness. I hope that once

"O-Of course. We're friends." Satisfied with my response, Bethany finally let go of my arm and followed me inside. I opened the door, but the office was pitch-black. "Dad, these are the friends I mentioned, the ones coming to work here for the summer," I said cautiously. Before I could introduce them, they pushed past me and crowded into the room. "Hello, Mr. Parker. We're here for the summer jobs. May I know what the pay is like? Is ten thousand dollars a month okay? Oh, and I'm not really into factory work. Can I get an office job instead?"

She's already there, handling his skates. "He is Coach Schmidt. He coaches junior skaters in summer" Everly whispered. "I was informed of a Summer Camp and summer, I don't know how it'll work for you, but you might be included." "A Summer Camp?" "Hm. I heard he rarely takes a foreign skater. If he does, then maybe they are exceptional," she added. "Go and stretch on the side, try to relax your muscles more." It is not a competition nor a local ice show, but the thought of a professional criticizing his every move sounds challenging. He had experienced harsh critiques in ballet, from his novice days till he could perform and hold a role in theater.

Rachel responded in her usual chipper mood. "Yeah, I just woke up an hour ago. I know it's almost midday, that's what weekends are for." "So what are you doing?" Sara hesitated, "I'm not doing anything, just chilling in my room." "That's so boring! It's summer, you should be out doing stuff!" "It's too hot to be doing anything on days like these." Sara complained, "Honestly, sometimes I freaking hate summer. I've barely moved and I already feel like I need a shower, it's gross!"

He knew that there was no way to guard against all attacks. “Okay.” After nodding, Summer sat down beside Ben and fed him a strawberry. “Which chapter are you on now? Let’s read together.”

Aiden sat up straight in his seat. "What the f uck?! I don't even remember agreeing to come with you!" Aiden said in an annoyed tone, causing Arden to frown. I had to bite my lower lip to stop myself from laughing at their conversation. It was so cute to watch! "Bro, you're needed for our plan at the beach house this summer to work out." "I just want to stay home this summer to relax." Aiden said firmly to his sibling. Arden shook his head. "Tsk! That's so boring! I won't allow it. This is our last summer before college, so it should be memorable! We'll be with girls in bikinis!" Arden encouraged, but it seemed like Aiden wasn't going to give in anytime soon.

a cover house, enough to stay in, but not meant for long-term living for them. After a while, as the sun starts to set, Rita and Alex gather in the living room. Instead of cooking, Rita ordered Chinese food, so we’re sitting around a table of delicious grease and spicy chicken, eating out of take-out boxes. “Okay, so, I’ll meet with the Malkeyes tomorrow. Alex, you go back to school, and I swear to God, if you stray off—” “I won’t,” he grumbles. When I look up at him, he gazes at me for a moment before looking away. “Damn right you won’t. Be on your best behavior. Anyway, Cynthia. You need to chat it up with your mom. If everything seems fine on her end, convince her you’ve gotta go to a su

"This is the 19th time, Summer. There's no way you didn't do it on purpose." Summer giggled again. "That's because I like doing this, Mama. I'm like a bird with wings." While Emily laughed heartily, the door behind her opened. Seeing who came, Summer squealed happily, "Uncle Cayden! Look what I'm wearing! Isn't this shirt really cool?" Summer stood on a chair and spread her arms. Now she looked like a scarecrow. Cayden chuckled at that. "Wow, you're really cool. Wait a minute. Isn't it the shirt Louis and I advertised?"

Summer snips, annoyed that she was shut out for so long. “Sounds fun.” I smile, throwing it in their direction, watching them gulp in apprehension, fear in their pupils. They’re too busy underestimating me, using their size to do the bulk of the work, but I am small, and agile. Their large cumbersome bodies put them at a serious disadvantage. “Are you ready to begin?” Lachlan asks, throwing me off guard, unsure how to respond, while I’m processing the information. “Do it.” Summer goads, pacing excitedly, her will slamming into me like a sledgehammer, breaking away my resistance. “We have to do this, Charity. Can’t you feel the moon calling you? Beckoning us forward?”
