In The Summer, Where Cicadas Buzz

In The Summer, Where Cicadas Buzz

It was so frequent that I even wondered if he was deliberately waiting there, just to catch me. Thanks to Willow, I survived the winter. However, I was greedy. I wanted to live until summer and die under a blazing sun. Whenever I said things like that, Willow would lecture me, her words sharp and unforgiving. If she hadn’t secretly turned away to wipe her tears afterward, she might have sounded more convincing. I’d been given too many painkillers. They barely worked anymore. Sometimes, the pain would keep me awake for days on end; other times, I would fall into a deep, heavy sleep.

Let’s Divorce. Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice.

Let’s Divorce. Mrs. Wright Is Done Playing Nice.

Still, Summer refused to give in. She did not want to submit just like that. She stormed away from Mrs. Mendes in anger. When she returned to the main house, she ran into Dora, who was doing chores. Seeing Dora looking like a servant, Summer looked down on her from the bottom of her heart. At that moment, she seemed to have forgotten that when she had still been recovering after childbirth, the food she had eaten had come from Dora and Fiona’s labor. Back then, she had stayed in her room and known nothing.

I am enjoying the book so far just started it. But if I were to play a drinking game for every time it is mentioned that Stella is an orphan I’d be long dead. Seriously we get it she was an orphan with no parents etc etc

WARNING..DON’T EVEN START READING IT!! The first few chapters are good, but then the author loses the plot, making the story go around in circles with no forward movement and dragging it out with unnecessary scenes. 5 stars are for it being the most boring story

Love on Thin Ice

Love on Thin Ice

I didn't move from my spot against the back wall, my leather duffel bag resting heavily against my combat boots. My left shoulder throbbed an angry, rhythmic reminder of the National Championship game, the deep tissue bruising making it painful to even shrug. But that physical pain was a distant, dull hum compared to the sharp irritation that flared up the second the door clicked open again. Summer walked in. She was wearing a thick, oversized cream knit sweater, her signature look when she was deep in study mode, but she looked smaller today. Dark circles shadowed her eyes, and her skin possessed a pale, translucent quality that suggested she hadn't slept since the buzzer sounded on the ice

My Seven Gorgeous Women

My Seven Gorgeous Women

They would lose their reputation, and it would be even better if he could defeat all their defenders and maim them all right there. Summer might be an elite of the Obscure Sun Clan, but she was a woman, after all. Her moves were all soft and fluid, better used for restraining the opponent. Bard was a top disciple from his sect, just like her. Summer knew that things were about to turn bad for her. Even though the opponent was only casually attacking, Summer found it increasingly difficult to keep up. By the looks of how he was fighting, she could not help thinking that he was clearly preparing a major attack on her.

Goodbye, Summer: Love Has Come and Gone

Goodbye, Summer: Love Has Come and Gone

The head of the orphanage found me in the middle of the scorching summer, which was why he named me Theros Sommar. When Daisy learned of it, she then said that moving forward, the summer solstice every year would be my birthday. She then prepared birthday gifts for me and even baked a birthday cake for me to celebrate. Ever since my gastric bleeding the other day, she had forbidden me from drinking again. But the mood back then had been just right, so I pestered her until she gave in and allowed me to drink some red wine. One thing led to another, and that night, she finally gave herself wholly to me.

Fated To My Lycan Brother

Fated To My Lycan Brother

Quietly, I stepped into the library to pick more books that were recommended to get more knowledge about things going on in the academy. I passed a sign that read, be quiet or be led out! Walking towards the last section of the room, I took a peek through the tall shelves. From the corner of my eyes, I glimpsed a pretty blonde, and I sniffed the air as I caught a whiff of Summer's mangoes scent. My eyes narrowed as Summer walked towards me. She wasn't alone. She was in the company of three other girls. What was she up to?

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD

“We’re a little too early for a harvest festival, which is what we put together for the high school last year. How can we fine-tune this summer fair, ladies?” Regina asked. Surrounding her was a group of women who loved working together for the good of the community, and were known as the go-to choice for getting things done. They weren’t from the country club like Candy’s set, who simply threw money at a charity to be seen doing it. Just good women who worked hard and had fun.

Would love a few epilogues to let us know what happened to them & their extended family. The brothers are interesting, Lucas & Joshua. Definitely, this story could be carried forth involving the other characters already introduced. Very sweet story. Loved how the 2 main characters were presented.
Traci Williams
Another fantastic love story by E.S.! I can’t wait to read more about these characters. There are some loose ends and story opportunities left open. As always, loads of character development and plot in a relatively quick read.

THE SILENT LUNA

THE SILENT LUNA

The record permanent. The work continuing. One year. The distance between a woman standing in a clearing in white and this. The distance walked. Not quickly. One step at a time. In the direction that was worth walking. She went inside. The morning session. The room in its summer rhythm. The windows open fully. The warmth moving through. The specific quality of summer work. Different from winter work. Both necessary. Both real. She did not tell the room it was the anniversary. The room did not need to mark it.

A Perfect Summer

A Perfect Summer

I'm also very sorry to Sandy! The live comments popped up just then. "Aww, just as expected of the main lead's daughter! Such a cute and understanding little girl. She's such a sweet little angel!" "Hahaha! Fatty? They're not wrong, though. The kids at the preschool are hilarious." "Is it really that funny to you? Isn't name-calling also another form of bullying? Only people who've never been through that will never understand. The more you tell those people to shut up, the more they'll do it, and the more helpless you'll feel!"
