Summer's POV Weaving in and out of yards Summer tried to lose the men that were pursuing her. She didn't know how long it had been since she called David or if he even took her words seriously, but she was beginning to grow tired by the minute. If help didn't arrive soon she was going to be captured. Refusing to allow that to happen she picked up pace as the houses around her began to grow fewer in number until dwindling down entirely leaving her out in the open where the men could easily see her.

Chapter 1 - New order *Three months later* There was a loud bang on my door. "Athena, get your ass up. We're going to be late." A voice shouted from outside my room. I slowly sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. As the seasons changed from summer into fall, the morning sun grew tired and made waking hard.

Summer moved her ankles and realized that Jasper had unchained her. Summer got off the bed anxiously, trying to find Jasper. He seemed to have gone out. A house without Jasper seemed even emptier. It was still snowing outside. The first snowfall in Sea City this year seemed to be heavier than previous years. Everything was snowy white outside the window. “Casper, this is Summer. I am in Jasper’s mansion. Come and pick me up.” She used the landline to call Casper. She anxiously wanted to find Benjamin.

It’s hard to get diagnosed, especially as a woman. Not everyone knows this but the first chapter, the prologue, of this book is the fourth draft. It was going to be completely different with her dealing with her ADHD but I started it all over again because Summer Hayes is a brilliant, strong person whose story doesn’t need to revolve around accepting ADHD. She is not her ADHD and I’m not my ADHD. I genuinely hope you enjoyed reading Summer and Damon’s story. Even though I struggled writing it in the beginning, I love this couple.

But if you can imagine Californian weather with South Africas season calendar. Which means: Dec - Feb· Summer Mar - May· Autumn/ Fall Jun - Aug· Winter Sep - Nov· Spring I'll make up a name as to the city they live in. But for now the beach that they at looks similar to Venice beach, CA.

The entire summer went by before our senior year started like any of the other summers I have experienced, probably because all it usually includes is me drowning myself in the depths of an amazingly written book, going to the gym and training for the swimming season for school. All while Madi is out there setting the latest summer trends, having fun with her girls – Chloe Valentine, organising bonfires on the beach for sunset and having boys gawk at her and girls wanting to be her. We are honestly two opposite sides of the same coin. She is warm and sunny, while I'm cold and gloomy – that's probably why I'm drawn to the water, like a moth to a red hot flame.

Summer said, her eyes gleaming with the prospect of new adventures. "Or we could just sit on the lawn and look at the stars. Seems like a good way to start adapting to the new rhythm," I suggested, imagining moments of peace and reflection. "It's like we're starting a new chapter, and each page is a new adventure," Summer commented, with an excited tone. "Let's fill this chapter with amazing memories."

Bethany's expression froze, the joy in her eyes vanishing as sheer panic took its place. The terror she felt was laid bare in front of Mitchell, and in that moment, it looked almost comical. Though it was the height of summer, Bethany felt a chill crawl over her skin, a chill that had nothing to do with the weather. She had already experienced the madness that Mitchell could descend into for Heather's sake, twice now, and the fear of reliving it a third time made her stomach turn.

The weather was just too hot outside. Charlotte creased her nose. She was not too happy about it, but she did not throw a tantrum. After breakfast, Summer went to the place that she and Dean had agreed to meet at. Summer could feel heat waves hitting her face in the late morning, even before noon. She felt as if she was inside a steamer and her back was sweating profusely after walking for just a while.
