GrayGray: I didn't ditch you, I was just hanging out with someone this summer. Idiot Best Friend: Who??? GrayGray: Someone who I figured out wasn't even worth my time. Usually, those who may have some sort of connection with the world of wolves were born under the time of the summer or winter solstice, but in most instances, it’s the summer. "Mine's June twenty-first. I was a summer solstice baby." "Guess we're unique then. I mean, not us personally but us together having opposite solstice birthday...I…I guess that's unique." Emily turned her attention toward the passing tree line. She felt her face heat up. She didn't mean to insinuate they were together-together and Zach to think she already laid claim to him or something. "Mine's not so special. My older brother Adam and Jacob, we all have the same birth date."

chapter 1 Fatal Tragedy it was a beautiful day with a clear sky above in the Brooke lawn it was the 16th day of march which is Mrs Tasha Adams birthday and also her best friend's daughter birthday. Tasha and her friend Lola Brooke decided to celebrate this year birthday in the Brooke's house.

[The Summer Solstice] The heat of the Azorean summer was a physical weight, thick with the scent of crushed wild thyme and the intoxicating sweetness of ripening figs. On the day of the solstice, the sun seemed to pause at its zenith, bathing the island in a white-gold radiance that made the shadows beneath the basalt cliffs feel like cool, inviting velvet. For Jinyan and Panni, this was not just the longest day of the year; it was an invitation to step into the heart of the community that had been shielding them from the world's cold eyes.

"What do you mean? How else am I supposed to behave? And what is Solstice?" "No Solstice celebrations on the other side? How sad."Nyx tsked, earning a sour look from Bren. I dropped the plate beside me and Morph glamoured it away. "What is Solstice?" I asked again. "A solstice is an event occurring when the Sun appears to reach its most northerly or southerly excursion relative to the celestial equator on the celestial sphere." Morph scrubbed his face with his palm and continued. "In much simpler terms, it is when the sun reaches its highest or lowest point in the sky at noon, marked by the longest and shortest days."

"Wait until your father sees you." Eva laughed softly, cheeks filling with colour at the compliment. "Thanks mum." "We should get going." Maria spoke up. "It's almost time." The packhouse was deserted now that everyone was outside enjoying the sun. It had truly turned out perfectly for the summer solstice and Eva smiled as the warm sunlight touched her, warming her shoulders and arms.

Cade laughed and laughed when I asked about it. How was I supposed to know about southern holidays when we only celebrated a few in the north. We had winter solstice to honor the goddess, then the spring equinox, which marks when some go out looking for their mates. Then, the Summer Solstice which is a celebration of everything. But those are the only celebrations we have. But here, there is Christmas and a bunch of other stuff, which to me seems pointless. I mean what was the point of following human traditions we were not human.

Well, maybe I shall heal in time. A heavy sigh escapes my lungs, marveling the long night awaits. I know I won't easily get asleep right now, I usually don't, and it's only two a.m. Damn my life! I take a deep yawn while grabbing the bottle of water from the nightstand and gulp a bit. "Ah, that's better," I breathe, my throat refreshed. Fully aware of the resentment I have towards sweating, the summer has decided to grant me a vengeful visit. I quickly get up and turn on the fan, which allows my body to cool off gradually. The L.A heat is no joke this year.

She was watching the scene with bright, interested eyes, like she was memorizing every detail. When she noticed me looking, she gave me a small, sympathetic smile and mouthed, “Poor boys.” But there was something in her expression that didn’t match her sympathetic words. Something that looked almost… satisfied. The summer solstice celebration was in full swing by the time the sun set, transforming our territory into something magical. Lanterns hung from every tree, casting warm golden light over the festivities. Tables groaned under the weight of traditional foods, and pack members of all ages danced to the music provided by a small band of musicians.

“The what?” “The Solstice Bloom Festival. Slowly changing lanes, I explained, "It's a local thing. It happens every Sunday from January to March. It’s supposed to celebrate the blooming of new chapters. The start of the new year.’ Kind of cheesy, but people really go all in. There are food trucks, music, and fire dancers. People release lanterns at sundown.”
