He tried to wriggle himself free from his grip when he recalled that him and his friends had agreed to meet at the palace’s library to dig deeper into the magic books they had carried along with them. "What do you want to do? Can’t it wait?" He asked, trailing kisses down his body. He wasn’t given time to respond because the next minute Hashmuk captured his lips for an itense deep kiss. Kelvin smiled through the kiss, closed his eyes and gripped Hashmuk’s hair. With one swap, he turned him so that he would be on top and captured his lips, pulled him against him for another heated kiss.

One volume called to her like a whisper against bone: *The Greater Veil: Finer Threads of Dominion* She pulled it free. The book was heavier than the black tome from her father’s library, its cover bound in something that looked like polished shadow-leather, warm to the touch. She opened it carefully. The first pages spoke of layered commands, of weaving intent so precisely that the dead obeyed without resistance, of turning even the strongest-willed undead into extensions of the caster’s will. Raven’s breath caught. She looked up at Victoria. Victoria read the title over her shoulder, then met Raven’s gaze. She squeezed Raven’s hand once—firm, reassuring—and nodded.

"That’s not ours." I followed them outside. The horizon burned faintly gold with the first light of dawn—but above it, clouds were forming, swirling unnaturally, pulling toward a single point in the distance. The air vibrated, low and rhythmic, like the earth itself was chanting. "The Summoning," Julian whispered. "What?" He turned to me, his expression grim. "Old stories. Before the first packs, before the Moon’s Blessing. When an Alpha carried too much power, the world itself called it back through a ritual—the Summoning. It was meant to restore balance."

"You're holding a spell book, so I'm assuming you didn't accidentally summon me. So why do you seem surprised?" "Summoned?" I gulped audibly. "Oh dear," the man said in a low voice. "You're one of those people who do a summoning because they think it won't work, aren't you?" "You mean... It worked? I summoned you? What even are you?" He gave a mocking little bow. "Orion, at your service." I stupidly stuck out my hand for a handshake and said, "I'm Briar." His lips curved in a sensual smirk as he took my hand in his and squeezed gently.

I then placed the jar back into the box, shut the lid, and headed for the Begonia library. Upon entering the library, I let my magic guide me to a particular shelf, where my fingers trailed along the spines of ancient tomes until they settled on a book bound in worn leather. With a flick of my wrist, I summoned the book into my hands, its weight reassuring against my palms. The Blossom family grimoire. Flipping through the pages with practiced ease, I scanned the ancient text until I found what I was looking for -a spell for teleportation to places one had never been. A smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I traced the intricate runes with my fingertips, committing them to memory.

I knew I needed to summon her and tell her of my fears. I decided to summon her in Buchum's game forest. Mai'Aljannu was the only one who knew how to invoke the deity in a contained space, and I wondered how he did it. Other than him, it was never safe to summon her behind closed doors or close to where people were because she was unpredictable and could not be contained when unleashed. Summoning her took a while, but she finally came. This time she came in the form of a snake. "What is it now?" she hissed.
