I pull on some comfortable leggings and a loose top, the best I have for a run. As I step outside, I squint at the blood-red sky. Morning already? How the hell am I supposed to know what time it is when the sky always looks like it’s bleeding? Damn the curse or whatever nonsense they say caused this. I make a mental note to ask Luna Serena for a clock. The moment I walk outside, the stares start again. A group of women stands in front of the building, framed by a thick forest where birds hum softly. But there’s nothing soft about their gazes. Disdain, disgust—some don’t even bother to hide their sneers.

The full moon sat in the sky; it was the night. It was the night of the Oracle Ceremony, and the town was alive. Nova’s POV I could see the sun starting set. It was casting beautiful hues of orange, pink and gold, across the early evening sky. I didn’t know what was going to happen next, so I decided to take a moment to just take in and absorb the beauty of nature. I had the ominous sensation if I didn’t figure out a way out of this, I wasn’t going to be seeing another sunset.
