After appreciating my mate's looks as I drifted off to sleep, I have ended up here a couple of times, not on purpose. Over my trips, I have learned about the different plants that help Selene create the mate bond. They were all beautiful; I loved the werewolf weeping willow the most, of course. Every time I tried to explain what it looked like to people, I got weird looks. They were receiving supplies from two men, the same men who had brought the satellite phone. “It’s pretty well hidden,” Willow said. “I don’t think anyone will find us here.”

Instead, it sank into the hill. Where they had stood, the soil began to shift. Two slender shoots emerged, green and vibrant. They grew with a quiet, unhurried grace, twining around each other as they reached for the sky. They grew into two beautiful, strong trees, their branches intertwined, their leaves a shimmering, silvery green.

Mine. “Mate.” I said, with a voice of longing. Willow’s hair started floating like an unseen force was causing it to rise. Hot air was flowing from her, and I felt like the final piece to my puzzle was about to be placed. Following her instinct, Willow held her palms up to meet mine, her entire body ignited like a torch. Blood red flames mixed with no other colors as it surrounded her. Her fire burned like mine. It was as if heaven and hell opened up and poured power down onto us. Our flames intertwine around each other like a cyclone. Blue and red were blending, turning so hard and fast that everyone around us was nothing but a blur.

Willow stood in the doorway way watching as I strapped the backpack close. "No need my sweetness." She looked confused but as I opened the door she saw why. Jaden was parking a black SUV as we walked out onto the porch. He came up and grabbed the bags and loaded them in the car. "Did you steal that?" I chuckled at her. "Sweet Willow we do not need to steal we have more money than we need. After so many years you accumulate such things." She looked a little embarrassed obviously thinking that because we killed humans that we must also steal from them to. I mean she isn't wrong that is how we have accumulated so much money but once we reached a certain amount we didn't feel the need to do that

"Our ancestors revered sacred hills, honoring life, death, and nature's cycles." Sebastian nodded thoughtfully. "Gray Wolf's family guarded traditions, passing wisdom through generations," Alex continued. The wind rustled leaves. "Those hills host ceremonial grounds," Alex pointed. "We respected every leaf, rock, and stream, maintaining balance." Sebastian gazed at the silhouette. "Your heritage is profound." Alex nodded. "We lived harmoniously, understanding nature's power." Their path wound through towering trees. Sebastian gestured to nearby plants. "Chamomile for calm, elderberry for fever."

"If something happens to you alone, Kael will eat me alive. Besides, I'm curious about this Ancient Willow. As they say, two wolves are always better than one." Eva rolled her eyes but didn't object. Truth be told, she didn't want to go alone either. A short while later, the Ancient Willow appeared at the mountain peak, standing tall in the valley that was slowly bidding farewell to winter, surrounded by melting snow. The massive hollow in its trunk was dark and silent. But the moment you stepped inside, it opened the door to another world.

I open it and read: Willow, I hope you have slept well. I left you some sweet blossoms to ease any sorrows and remind you of me. There is elixir for strength and recovery in the refrigerator and herbal tea next to your mug. The herbal tea is a human blend that tastes good and soothes the nerves, but isn’t magical. Call me if you need anything, anything at all. I hope to see you at the grand opening, but will understand if you want to stay away from the club.

Sprucepaw rose to her paws once more when Wildheart began to take the lead. Reeds had begun to grow in a more marshy area as they continued moving forward. Wildheart pointed out landmarks for Sprucepaw to remember. There was the ancient looking willow tree that's branches seemed to reach for the sky. Sprucepaw had heard legends of cats meeting under the willow tree. There they would find the love of their life waiting for them. But she knew that it was nothing more than a silly legend for elders to tell.
