Once we finished the last batch of forms and confirmations, Milo looked at me with a spark in his eyes.
“Bookstore?”
“Yes,” I said immediately. “Lead the way.”
Knowledge Hills University’s bookstore sat at the far east of campus, a two-story building with vines crawling up the exterior and warm wooden doors that gave it a cozy, almost magical atmosphere.
The moment we walked in, I inhaled deeply.
Books. New books. Crisp pages. Clean ink. Academic heaven.
The place was beautiful; rows and rows of shelves reaching up toward golden pendant lights, reading corners with plush chairs, walls lined with student art, the faint sound of a piano instrumental playing overhead.
