After all, it was better than the silence. "The power system is divided into two, majorly. There are Abilities and Magic Users. The ability users are people born with ability cells in them. These ability cells are what determines what kind of abilities they get; wind, fire lightening, sound, earth, metal, wood, plants and weapon control, speed, strength, enhanced brains-something...I don't remember what that something is....ummm... transformation, transmutation, shapeshifting, virtually anything you can think of. I can't really explain the science behind it but, as a human or beast, if you are born with even the slightest sign of ability cells, you have the chance to become an ability user.

he shouted. “I can’t! I’m trying but I can’t!” I shouted back. Suddenly, I felt really worn out and sore from the inside. I let go of myself and the whole thing stopped, including my own heartbeat. My dad took me to his lab and tended to me immediately in his own scientific way. He changed a little bit of me and inserted chips in my body that contained the strength and willpower to all those powers that I had. He made me a new person who could live with superpowers and learn how to control them. He made me a superhuman.

“Is there any threat in this city the cops can’t handle?” After a brief silence, Derik let out a deflating breath and turned to him. “I’m not supposed to be telling you this, but there are humans living in this city who can transform into some kind of animal. When they change, they possess inhuman abilities like superhuman strength, increased speed, or enhanced senses. Now that’s a threat not even the cops can handle.” “Shapeshifters?” he raised an eyebrow. “Yes, like shapeshifters, but that’s not what they are called. We call them Shifters.”

“Filming a movie my *ss! This is a fight between gods! Oh my god, I remembered reading a post on Reddit that claimed superhumans really exist. They claimed that they were capable of flight and possessed inexhaustible strength! I didn’t believe it at the time. I thought it was just a joke, but judging by the situation now, it’s true. Superhumans are real!” the young man said excitedly. The other man next to him became enthused as well. He hastily shoved at the other man and asked, “Which subreddit is that? Send me the link.”

This is a symptom of the superpower awakening and evolution phase. A small minority of individuals may also enter a superpower awakening state after being attacked by mutated flora, fauna, or zombies. Residents are advised to quarantine such individuals based on the situation. The duration of the awakening process is currently unknown. Superpower types include the five elemental series (Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth), variant series (Wind, Lightning, Ice), and special types such as Spirit, Healing, Invisibility, Flight, Mind-Reading, Spatial, Dark, Light, etc.

I needed an ability that would set me apart, something that would make me unstoppable. As I browsed, I came across various categories: enhanced strength, speed, agility, and even advanced combat skills. There were experimental drugs that promised superhuman abilities, cybernetic enhancements that could turn me into a living weapon, and even genetic modifications that could alter my DNA. The possibilities were endless, and the excitement was almost overwhelming.

She was tired and needed to rest by the time the call was coming to an end. “Is there anything else you need to report?” Chairwoman Kathrine Jones asked. “Yes ma’am. There is one more thing. All of the special ops personnel take a drug called K-101.” Hope ran a trembling hand over her face. “It allows whoever uses it to tap into super abilities, as in strength and speed. A normal human can become as fast and strong as us.” Hope was referring to the supernatural and not just the Weres or vampires.

As he saw Jin and his minions running away from the scene. "What I'm I going to do now, I'm dead if I don't think of something and the worst part is that I don't have powers to protect myself, I'm the weakest of the weak. I can run fast without getting tired and I can see things very much clear in pitch-black darkness. All my senses are enhanced.
