Sleep refused to come. My mind felt restless. Maybe there was something in this room that could help me remember. Slowly, I stood up. I began looking around. The bookshelf immediately caught my attention. Dozens of books filled the shelves. I pulled several out. There were history books, pack law books and training manuals. Then I noticed something else. There were fiction novels; thrillers, mysteries and crime novels. I blinked. Apparently, I enjoyed those. "I don't remember reading any of these."

While I am waiting, I pick up the book by his bedside and read the title, ‘Six of Crows’, I turn it around to read the blurb, it was about six thieves trying to pull off an impossible heist to save their country. The book seemed like a very interesting read, maybe after Blake was done with the book, I could read after him. In the meantime, I bring out my phone and I open the app I have for books. I go the book I am currently reading, it is murder mystery/ thriller, titled ‘As good as dead’ and it is very interesting and intriguing.

The air smelled faintly of dust and old wood. This is stupid, I thought. But my pulse was already racing. The single bulb hanging from the ceiling flickered weakly, casting long shadows across the basement floor. Boxes and forgotten furniture sat in the corners like silent figures watching me. “Eighteen... nineteen...” Panic nudged at me. With no better option, I slipped inside an old wardrobe and pulled the door nearly shut behind me. The space was cramped and smelled of mildew. Rough wood pressed against my back. There wasn't actually a good hiding spot down here.

Instead, he replied with actual books I’ve read before in my first life that he firmly hated. “‘Darkness Within’ is my first recommendation. Absolutely amazing. ‘Death, are you real?’ is also good, as well as ‘The Next Morning’. Those three are my best picks.” I blinked several times, visibly surprised. Earlier events completely shoved to the side as this new discovery of Cassius Silverton reading thriller books had me utterly nonplussed.

Suzanne popped another juicy piece of fruit into her mouth and mumbled, "Aren't you busy?" Ignoring her question, Nathan asked, "What book are you reading?" Suzanne picked up the book and showed it to him. "I randomly picked up a suspense novel. It's quite interesting." Nathan took the book, glanced at the title and synopsis, then casually placed it back on the table, his interest seemingly waning. After eating a few more pieces of fruit, Suzanne put down her fork and reached for her book. Suddenly, Nathan grasped her hand. Startled, Suzanne turned to look at him, her heart racing and cheeks flushing.

It has never been my goal to impress my sister with anything I do. I scroll through the books in the library until I come to my favourite section, Mystery. I always love the thrill that comes with not knowing what's going to happen next. You can make it more interesting for yourself if you start to wonder what is happening and what will happen. I take a few glances through the books on the shelves and take a book that looks the most interesting out of all the books I saw. 'In the Woods' by Tana French.

~LIBRARY SEX~ The air in the library was thick with the scent of old books and polished wood, a familiar comfort that usually soothed my nerves. The one time Leonica found the most gripping each time she settled down to read her favorite books, were the pin drop moment. Suspense, silence and uncertainty. Those three went pleasant well during that particular moment and made the story all the more interesting and gripping to her as a devoted reader. But heck, she had never for once sat down and thought about how she’d handle such a situation if it was her faced with it, rather than the Mary Sue female leads in the books she read.
