Swear Fealty Novels & Stories

At this point, I was certain—There was something seriously wrong with the both of them. One loved stealing what belonged to others, while the other thrived on self-sacrifice and wallowing in their own misery. I took a deep breath to suppress my anger before saying, "Get out of here right now, or I swear I'll kill you!” "Henry, you and Sadie are a match made in heaven. The two of you should be locked together forever and stop ruining other people's lives, you absolute trash!"

But I nodded. “I believe you want peace,” I said. “But peace isn’t built in a letter. It’s built in choices.” “We know,” My second brother said, his voice barely above a whisper. “That’s why we’re here. We want to swear allegiance to Galahad. Not just for formality. For real unity.” Fayne tensed beside me. I felt it in the bond we shared. He didn’t trust them. I couldn’t blame him. “And what do you want in return?” I asked, sharp as frost.

“Let any who defy them be met with the wrath of the family and the fury of tradition!” Harvey and I took our seats on the thrones, side by side, feeling the weight of our new titles settling on us. I could feel Harvey’s hand reach out to mine, our fingers entwining—a private moment in the midst of such grandeur, reminding me that we were in this together. As we sat, members of the family came forward to offer their fealty. One by one, they knelt before us, swearing their allegiance. Each vow was spoken with solemn respect, a pledge to defend and protect us as we would protect them.

His eyes were shuttered, detached as he did as he had been commanded but he wasn’t enjoying dolling out the punishment. When Syrelia has spoken of The Five, warriors sworn to the queen, body, mind and soul, she had made it sound so fantastic but there was nothing fantastic about what she was witnessing. She was witnessing a darker side to the fealty they swore, none of them able to reject her command even if she ordered them to kill each other right now.

“I promise on my behalf, the behalf of my sister and the future behalf of the people of Amar and beyond in the Underworld. We will abide by the call, come to aid and fight alongside our allies.” The woman pricks a cut on his finger, helping him to place the blood print in the book, which flares with his oath. Then she makes a small cut on his hand, tipping it over the goblet and nods. Crown Prince Cian steps back with a satisfied smile, looking to the room. Then Beta Derek steps forward, looks at me and nods. “I will swear on behalf of the Iron Mountain pack, as my Alpha gave me authority to do as necessary to ensure peace and allies.” He says, Adria stepping up beside him.

"And swear your loyalty to me." The warriors quickly scrambled to their feet, their eyes fixed on David with a mix of fear and admiration. One by one, they stepped forward, their voices filled with conviction as they pledged their allegiance to David. "I swear my loyalty to you, Alpha," each warrior repeated, their hands clasped together in a gesture of fealty. As the last warrior finished his oath, David nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "I will be back as soon as I can," he said, his voice filled with authority. "But for now, I have a mission I must accomplish."

"Anyone else want to test my loyalty?" No one spoke. Xander stepped beside me. "This is the new order. Those who swear, thrive. Those who doubt, fall." The crowd parted. Fear. Respect. Awe. He leaned close, just enough for only me to hear. "You were always meant for war, Reya. Now you’re mine to unleash." I didn’t flinch. "Then point me at your enemies." He lifted my arm, blood still dripping. "Behold. My weapon."

And the younger creatures call this a a good thing, I call this a abomination. “We can’t use our titles today,” Former Lord Glee tells me as we sit. “Then why are we swearing loyality?” I asks. “All the Beast are expected to, the foxes will go first, then the bears. The Alpha wolves will swear next, then Every Single Lycan will have swear.” He explains.

"We must face this challenge together, united against our common enemy. Trust will be crucial in the days to come, and I, for one, am willing to place my faith in each and every one of you." The room was hushed as we all considered his words. I had a feeling where this might go and, in a way, hoped that it would. If Declan declared an oath of fealty with the Moon Goddess as his witness, then we would have the necessary allies to wage war upon Kree and her minions. "Also...," Declan continued, "to assure our leaders that we are also to be trusted, I will swear an oath of fealty to my King and Queen and implore you all to follow suit."

I need the soldiers in case other kingdoms try to takeover. “Fine. First swear to me, on your armor the loyalty.”, he smirks kneeling before me. His sword drawn out at my feet, “I swear to the armor, to the sword that I hold. I will hold on to your plan. Me or the army under me, won't kill a single man of yours, and once you kill King Benjamin, I sign my fidelity to you.”, I tap on his shoulder accepting his loyalty. The oath of loyalty is one of the strongest any warrior can hold, nobody knows if it is right or wrong, all I know is they would be cursed to die with their own sword if they break the promise.
