I offered a silent prayer in my heart, hoping fervently that this awkwardness would break up soon. I longed for an answer, for the atmosphere to ease and return to a state of normality. I yearned for clarity and a sense of understanding that could help bridge the gap that had formed. As nervousness coursed through me, I noticed cold beads of sweat forming on my forehead. Swiftly, I wiped them away with my palm, hoping to mask the unease that simmered just beneath the surface. Taking a deep breath, I steeled myself with resolve. It was time to address the elephant in the room, to attempt to rid the tension that weighed heavily upon us all.

My hands turned sweaty, and it didn't take Aston long to notice that I was already getting nervous. “What's wrong darling? Why are you sweating so much on your palms, and what's with the heavy breathing. Don't you feel well?” His brows were raised, eyes staring into mine with so much concern. “I, I am.” I closed my eyes, and pressed my lips for a while. “Then what's wrong?” He pressed further to know what's wrong. “Nothing…” I tried to deny it because I thought it was super strange to tell him I was scared about meeting his family.

It wasn't ugly, but maybe a little too underdressed for this. “Are you nervous, kitty?” Brain asked, gently squeezing my hand. “Uh?”I jerked my neck to him. “Your palm is sweaty,” He pointed out. “Oh, I’m sorry.” I quickly took my hand from his grip. “Don’t be ridiculous. I don’t care if they’re sweaty.” He grabbed my hand again, flashing a smile at me. I smiled back. “You’re obsessed with me, even my nasty sweat is therapeutic for you.” I joked to soothe my nerves down.

There are different ways in showing discomfort. One would fidget with the hem of their shirt like it is the most interesting piece of wonder in the world. The other is when one would look around, avoiding eye contact with the person. Shifty eyes, if you must call it, or the wandering eye. The other is rocking the balls of their feet back and forth as though having trouble keeping still. These were common reactions of being nervous. However, mine is sort of... weird. Gross even.

He says suddenly with his eyes still shut. My eyes grow wide and l look away. "I'm not." I deny. "Yes you are." He presses on. I turn to him again, "I'm not." I deny further. Is it that obvious that I'm nervous? And why am l even nervous? Oh God! It's not like this is the first time we are spending time together. Is it because there's so many things on my mind today? "You are and that's why you have been fidgeting with your fingers."

So then, why was he so going over the area incessantly nitpicking on every single corner he could reach, you ask? Well. “What’s going on? Are you nervous about the new admission?” Maribel asked, eyes wide in surprise. Axel was usually the most laid back and composed of them all when it came to kids, or well, he was calm and collected most of the time. “I’m not nervous, why do you think I’m nervous,” Axel chuckled… nervously. “You’re sweating,” Maribel deadpanned. “I’m—” Axel started, hesitant to open up about the thing that was actually making him sweat through his palms on such a pleasant and breezy morning like this.

While sipping my water and busy wiping the sweats dropping in my body I receive a text message. "Nine, can we talk? I have something talk to you it's very important" The content of the message. I don't really know what should I feel about the text. But for all I know, I feel tension and my heart start to beat so freaking fast again, my shoulder lightly trembling because of nervousness.

I could only imagine how her presence would affect me. My heart continued racing as I watched the people milling around. After a few minutes, I started to attract stares, but I pretended not to notice. Taking my palms off the steering wheel, I brought them closer to my face to confirm that they were indeed sweaty. I hated it when I was nervous, particularly when a woman was the reason behind it. I let out a deep sigh and placed my hands on my laps, rubbing it in slow, circular motions. “Fuck,” I said, as I suddenly realized that I was soiling my pants. Taking a glance at my watch, I saw that I had only fifteen minutes left.

"How do you want it? Do you want us to go straight ahead or you need a little time to cool off?" Gideon's deep voice reverberated throughout the entire room. Suddenly, I was nervous and I was beginning to feel sweat trickle into the inside of my palm. Maybe it was because I had canceled all plans of ever sleeping with him in my mind, whatever it was, was resulting to uncontrollable nerves. I pushed my fingers together to try to control my nerves a little.

I just didn't bother trying to deal with any of my own. Caleb jogged up next to me, having had stayed frozen after I began to walk away. "I screwed it up, didn't I? I always fumble and mess up when I am nervous." His free hand ran through his hair violently, the way he normally does when he is stressed.
