A breeze came, kind and informed, carrying three scents in equal measure: loam that had just been turned, salt that had just been flung into air and returned, and the faint mineral sweetness of moonlit rock. It touched their faces; it found their hair; it laid a cool line along the heated column of each throat. If air could nod, it nodded.
