I wonder if Zayne is alright. Our bedroom door is closed and I slowly approach it, my hand trembling as I reach for the doorknob. The laughter, the arguments, the stolen kisses in this very room feel like a distant dream when the door creaks and I catch a glimpse of Zayne huddled on the bed, his face buried in his hands. My heart sinks, and I rush to his side, kneeling down to meet his gaze. "Zayne," I whisper, my voice filled with concern. "Are you okay?"

We both spin around to see what’s wrong only to find Bobby Enderson wrapping his hands around her, bringing her into a deep kiss. 'I want that with our mate,' Kia whines. 'We will soon, I promise.' Skyla rolls her eyes and continues to walk through the school gates. I follow and stop when I catch his scent in the breeze. My eyes dart around and I see him standing next to his car with Danni and his other friends. His eyes snap to mine. They turn dark and feral, flicks of gold flashing through as Jace shows himself. Kia was still bouncing around all excited; now she had seen Zander.

His face and voice exuded a calmness contrasting with Zenya’s fuming expression. “What’s wrong with that? There was a stillness in the air, a certain pressure wrapped around him, tensing even the air around him. His voice dipped low to a dark baritone, heavy with an edge, when he spoke again, his gaze narrowing. “And what is that supposed to mean?”

Shirley snapped her eyes open as she felt something bright enough to blind her at the moment on her face, she turns only to see it was the ray of light filtering in from the window.
