I held my breath under his scrutiny.
I know the idea was ridiculous and maybe there was a possibility that I might simply be blowing things out of proportion, I was afraid that the longer he looked, the more he would realize that I wasn't her. He was a very smart man.
“Well, I always used to think that you were…air headed,” he said. I hit hard on my bottom lip to hide the smile from spreading. If only he knew that I wasn't offended. If anything, I was amused.
“Air…headed?” I tilted my head slightly to the side. My curiosity heightened. I could be a lot of things but ‘air headed' wasn't one of them.
