She had escaped from the crypt. "He's not dead! He's not dead!" Daphne threw herself onto the coffin, pounding on the lid like a woman possessed, her voice so shredded it was barely human. "Stellan isn't dead! He's not dead! He's not dead! You can't bury him! He's really not dead!" The chapel erupted. Everyone stared at Daphne in shock, then at the coffin, then at each other.

He talks to every person that dies in the hospital he is in charge of, as if they are still alive. "For now, Sir, I will put you inside the freezer, I got to pee. I will leave you here for the meantime, to see if you will be that one in a million who will come back from the dead. But please, do not come back anymore. If that happens, maybe you will be a zombie. Toodles, see you tomorrow, or another day." The morgue guy wrapped Tanashiri's cold body in a blanket. "Asshole, you idiot, I am alive!"

I said in a voice only him could hear. "Is that really you, Neilla?" His voice still held skepticism and I couldn't blame him either. "Were you expecting some other person?" I tried to throw in a bit of lighthearted humor to dispell the awkwardness that came from him still staring in disbelief. Not to forget, the noticeable distance he kept several feet away from me like I had some communicable disease. "B-but, you're dead. You died. All those years ago." The words rang out aloud like a broken bell in my head, all other noises immediately coming to a cease. I had to look at Annabella behind me who was just as shell shocked by the news as I was. Something felt terribly wrong.

One can't blame though because let's just face it, which normal human would be extremely fearless in this kind of situation "Have you always been this way? It laughed so hard that even some of the crying stopped — people freezing mid-sob, stunned by the sheer insanity of the sound. I could feel it vibrating through my chest, every note cutting through my ribs. When it finally stopped, it wiped an invisible tear from the corner of its eye and said, still chuckling, “Have you forgotten?” Its grin twisted. “You’re also dead.” The man’s mouth fell open. “W-what?” he whispered, barely audible. The Game Master leaned down until their foreheads almost touched. “Dead,” it repeated, dragging the word out like a lover’s whisper. “Every single one of you. Including you. You died. You’re not alive.”

His face went bone-white. He finally seemed to remember the mind link he had so carelessly discarded. He clutched his chest, closing his eyes, desperately reaching for the connection that should have been there. There was nothing. A dead, silent void. I watched his panicked expression and laughed a hollow, soundless laugh. It's no use. I'm dead. Of course I can't answer you. "No… impossible…" Ethan muttered, his voice trembling. "Ethan?" Lily looked at him with concern. "What's wrong?"

I instinctively curled up, trembling as blood poured from my lips. In the moments before total unconsciousness claimed me, I perceived the skepticism in Carl's eyes dissolve, twisting into outright terror. I then heard his voice echo toward me, growing clearer. "You're not allowed to die without my permission, Aria! You'll stay alive to atone for your sins!" I doubted I would ever have the chance to complete the requested atonement, as I was certain my life would end in just two more days.

Evan tried to snatch the phone out my hand but it was way too late. That shit was already sent. I shoved the phone hard against my chest with a slow smile curling on my lips. “Oops.” “You are dead, Emily,” he snarled, voice low and venomous. I smirked, tilting my head as I stepped closer, looking him dead in his eyes with zero fear. “I died ten years ago, nigga. Tell me how you gon’ kill somebody who’s already dead?”
