People tried to talk me into meeting her, said I should hear her out, clear the air. I'd already been clear. Once she crossed that line, I was gone. I pushed the mess out of my head and looked out at the lake. Annoyed, I flicked a stone into the water and watched the ripples spread. "You look unhappy. If you don't mind, you can talk to me about it." The clear, spring-soft voice at my ear made me freeze. I turned.

The interface was laughably simple, with only a banner at the top that promised that their fortunes were "Always Accurate!" Jamie scoffed and entered my name, and the interface loaded for a few moments, before a message appeared. [He's right next to you.] She shook her head, smiling bitterly as she moved her finger to turn off the application. But in that instant, I realized that I could somehow control the cursor, and under Jamie's startled gaze, I forced it to type out a single word. [Restroom.] Her eyes widened, clearly not quite comprehending what was going on in front of her.

He didn't get what this was or why Keltrix was giving it to him. "This is a clock?" "I do not have a word for this in any language you know." Kel crossed his tentacles. "This is a book or a computer or a tablet or a phone or a game." Kel exhaled as if frustrated. "You teach it with your mind." He tapped the glass. The image of a number appeared in white lettering in the middle. "Humans have twenty-four hours as you watch your sun rise and set. This becomes days and weeks and years. Time matters to you for some reason."

She knew something like this would happen, she mustered up every sanity and bravery left afte rthe incident yet it's stretching too much to her liking. Tick tick tock… The odd sounds coming from the clock, as if it's been stuck for a moment and working again the next moment. She looks back to the normal looking clock, however there's something odd on it. Instead of going forward like the one she had back in her old home, it's moving backward. She eyeing it, confused. 30 second, 29 second, 28 second… 1 second, a minute?. "Now, you dare to act this rude when people talk?!."

I said, to no one in particular. “Oh and feed Butters,” I said, quickly thereafter. “On it, I’m on it babe,” Finch said, not looking up from his phone. Jack darted into my bedroom and when he came back he was holding that damn red clock. It was the source of the noise. I was annoyed and I stomped my foot for good measure. “How does it even work! There are no knobs, no batteries,” I whined, snatching it from him. I was ready to punt it out the window.

Friday, 23:30: “Beep, hello 001. It's 23:50, the counting system will close in ten minutes, please complete the count from 1 to 120 if you want to continue” Again? The clock is out of time but there are rules, it's wrong every three days. I sighed, counting again. Saturday, 21:05: Beep. 1.2..3..120. Day Eight, 21:05: Beep. 1.2..3..120. Ninth day, 21:05: Beep. 1.2..3..120. Ninth day, 23:30: “Beep, hello 001. It is now 23:50, the counting system will close in nine minutes, please complete the count from 1 to 120 if you want to continue”

Is it the year of the man who made it, or the year of the watch? The front of the clock should have no number, so there should be twelve lines or, at most, four bars and a minute needle, but there is nothing. It's not an electronic clock, but it doesn't have a button and doesn't light up. Rosabella doesn't know why she bought this! Ting Ting. 1879 cried again. Rosabella was supposed to go to bed, but still, out of curiosity, she turned it around and watched it again. This time she felt a braille line at the watch's bottom.

“The remote control.” “That was difficult.” “You left three screws.” “They were extra.” “The manufacturer disagreed.” Rafael was smiling now. “What else have you taken apart?” Al started counting on his fingers. “Car. Robot. Flashlight. One clock.” I immediately pointed at him. “That clock is still in litigation.” “It works.” “It chimes every seventeen minutes now.” “It knows time.” “It knows something.” Rafael laughed quietly and shook his head, then snapped another Lego piece into place. “Like me.”

Mitchelle “Beep, beep, beep, beep,” the alarm clock rang. “It’s time to wake up, Mitchelle.” That was the alarm clock, Dorian’s new invention, a talking toy rooster. I had registered my name in it the night before and put it on the side of my bed because I wanted to start the day early, knowing I had lots of meetings. I got up still wrapped in Dorian's arms with the morning sunlight streaming through the curtains, and for a moment everything felt perfect and safe until my phone started buzzing repeatedly on the nightstand.

I let out a gasp as my eyes fell on the wall clock, it was 8: 30 am already. I have worked with Derrick and one of the mistakes he would never tolerate is keeping him waiting or coming late to his meetings.
