Tana French In The Woods Series Novels & Stories

I couldn't wait to read my new books and maybe even see my witch friend again. I walked into the coffee shop, and a mouthwatering scent filled my nose. I didn't have words to describe it, nymph food was exclusively derived from the forest and something told me there was little to nothing here that could be found near my tree. Glass cases were filled with little treats and morsels, my mouth popped open at the sheer number of them.

They had left their golden goose completely vulnerable, guarded only by a skeletal crew of unsuspecting soldiers. Two miles away, inside the soundproof, high-tech command center of the Volkov van, Serena stood before a wall of glowing monitors. Her ocean-blue eyes were sharp, calculating, and entirely devoid of remorse. She wore a simple, form-fitting black turtleneck and dark jeans, her hair pulled back into a high ponytail. Beside her stood Alexei, his fingers flying across a tactical keyboard as he monitored the live satellite feeds and heat-signature maps of the Moretti warehouse.

I needed assistance and I wasn’t sure I was going to get one while I was out here. Lauren, my mom didn’t even know that I was here. I had left the house silently in order to get some breathing space. We had just arrived from Washington out of hope that we could put our past behind us. Lauren had assured me that WinstonVille would be the perfect place to restart our lives. WinstonVille was a quiet town in West Virginia. Nothing happened over here which made it a great choice for my mother. I had wandered into the woods with the hope that I would find the solitude that I had seemed so much. It had been so quiet and I had loved the way my feet crushed the dry leaves. They made a crunching sound

Tatiana's POV After Tia's shift at the Cafe, she decided to let Talia out for a run before going home. She called her Dad to let him know before she left. As she stripped out of her clothes, her wolf took over, and she shifted mid-run. The feeling of the soft soil beneath her paws was delicious. Her wolf Talia needed to run. Tatiana needed it also. She needed to feel the forest's breath through her paws. The wind rustled her white fur and sent a shiver down her back. She felt alive for the first time in weeks. The sounds and smells of the forest filled her senses and fed her soul. The sun slowly faded, giving way to shadows and depth. She ran with no predetermined destination, but when she a

She wore a simple, dark green wool tunic, but her posture was that of an Alpha queen. She looked at Laila as they approached, her sharp green eyes traveling from the white bandages on her arms to the silver hairs on her wrists. She didn't offer a hand or a word of welcome. She told Laila in a low, gravelly voice that she looked like a ghost that had forgotten to lie down. She said the daughter of Tyler Wolfe had caused a great deal of trouble across the ocean, but Paris was not an American forest. Here, the roots of the tree were made of iron, and they were wrapped around the throat of everyone who breathed.

Weeks passed by, Tiffany mingled with everyone inside the orphanage together with Hailey, her best friend, which is a werewolf too. Tiffany already knew what her powers and the history of her parents, but there are unlocked memories that still to be revealed. One day, Tiffany decided to go to the forest alone to test her powers, to train herself to be stronger. As Tiffany ventured into the forest alone, the dense canopy of trees blocked out the sunlight, casting eerie shadows on the ground. The air felt heavy with anticipation, as if the forest itself sensed her presence and awaited her next move.

It didn't take me long to get there as I zipped through the woods with tunnel vision—there wasn't anything that could distract me. When I made it to the log cabin I found Tania waiting outside for me with a grin splitting her lips. Her white locks had been braided off to the side and she wore a tube top and a little skirt, leaving most of her skin visible to my hungry eyes. I stalked toward her with a purely animalistic growl shaking the ground beneath her feet. The action had a giggle spilling from those perfect lips and ringing in my ears. Curling my lips back, I snapped my canines at her playfully. She wasn't fazed, bravely reaching out to pet the top of my head.

When I had a girl bent over in front of me, I didn't want to be thinking of who else had been inher hole that night, which one of my brothers had stretched her out for me. "f**k" I curse to myself as I kick the ground in front of me. "Hmm you did last night baby" Tanya's high pitched voice says in what she thinks is a seductively suggestive tone. Feeling her long nails graze my arm as she appears beside me, I shoot her a cold glare and move myself firmly away.

Everything was going exactly as planned. My phone rang. The sudden sound startled me. I wiped my hands on a towel and picked it up from the counter. The screen showed an unfamiliar number. I frowned but answered anyway. "Hello?" There was a pause on the other end. Then a shaky voice spoke. "Miss Woods… this is Daniel from Mr. Woods' office." My stomach tightened. "Yes? What is it?" Something about his tone made my pulse quicken. The man sounded panicked. Terrified. "Miss Woods… something happened to Mr. Woods."

Something wasn’t right. “I don’t trust that girl. I’ve never seen her at school before,” Tiffany’s wolf muttered inwardly, and she agreed. It was strange. Tiffany, who knew almost everyone—high rank or low—had never seen Mari once before. It was like she appeared out of nowhere. At first unnoticed, now suddenly close to Snow. Tiffany frowned. Then she spotted her—Mari, sneaking into the woods. Tiffany licked her lips and followed quietly. The deeper she went, the more she was sure—Mari knew her way around the woods. She had masked her scent and presence so well, Mari wouldn’t even notice her following.
