Nothing hurts me more than watching a tear fall from this beautiful girl’s eyes. Each one is like a knife plunged into my heart. When I pull back and look into her eyes which are swimming in tears, for one fleeting minute, it’s like a curtain fell and she allowed me to see into her soul. I saw such sorrow and something deep in my chest hurt, so much so that it caught my breath. I feel tears burn the back of my eyelids. I’m an idiot. How could I not see it?

I saw a river on the side of the road, its water is so calm and reassuring to look at. This river seems to have no end because of its sheer length. I let the wind caress me and embrace me. I can feel the warmth of my eyes again with the tears welling up. I don’t know what in all I’m going through makes me cry right now but I know I’m hurting. My heart feels so heavy and it seemed as if the passage of air in my hair and body is asking me to let it out and shed my tears. A tear flowed down my cheek followed by large drops. My vision is becoming blurry now and I can't see the road very well as my eyes are already filled with tears.

" I said as I packed our stuffs making Bell confused. "Theo. Talk to me what's wrong? What's happening?" She asked as she stood watching me move from the cabinets to our suitcase. I didn't answer so she stood in front of me and made me look into her eyes. "Teddy tell me what's wrong?" She asked gently and before I knew it something came out of my eyes. The tears kept on flowing and I touched them and looked at Bell. "What are these? Why is it so good yet so painful?" "Oh baby. Those are called tears and they come out when we are in so much pain that we can't endure it anymore." She said making me hug her.

"Shh, just let it out." I never did realize that countless teardrops were flowing from my eyes.

Like delicate raindrops clinging to the precipice, her tears teeter on the edge, threatening to spill over and carve a path down her cheeks. Within those sorrowful eyes, one can witness the struggle of a wounded soul. They are the windows to a heart burdened by the weight of grief, loss, or loneliness. The irises, once bright and vibrant, now seem dim, as if a shadow has enveloped their natural radiance. The sparkle that once danced within them has been replaced by a haunting emptiness.

Everyone's eyes were on me. I let the paint slide down my cheek and looked Judd straight in the eye. "Do you honestly think I'm so despicable?" He stiffened and fell silent for a beat before Megan stumbled in his arms and piteously whimpered, "Judd, my ankle hurts so much…" The hesitation in his eyes immediately vanished, replaced by irritation and disgust at having nearly been swayed. He lifted Megan into his arms and coldly said, "If possible, I'd rather believe you're not. You'd better watch out."

Her voice, once sharp and panicked, dissolved into a soft pleading tone, “Honey, you completely misunderstood me. I was just terrified for us, my love. The thought of seeing you stripped of the status you worked so hard for broke my heart for a second. I don't care about the money for myself, but I want you to have the world. I can’t bear the thought of those company shares going to your half-brother, Elias. Darling, don't be angry with me for being a frightened girl for one minute. Please believe me, I love you with all my heart. I will…….”

I shredded the iceroot Morpheus had sent me and threw that in the bin too. I was almost dead anyway. My things would only be an eyesore to them. Last was a picture of just Morpheus and me. I stared at it, blank, and then, without a second thought, binned it as well. After all that, it was as if every drop of strength had drained from my body. I collapsed onto the nest. A savage pain ripped through my belly. The coppery taste of blood rose in my throat. I coughed violently, spraying blood across the sheets in a great dark bloom.
