I grab my softest sweater, my favourite, and ball it up. I bend down, arranging my face into something I hope is friendly, then wrap his arms around it. He holds it while I walk away to the vault. I have the pills to arrange and store. On my return he is in the exact same spot, his arms still hugging a sweater that lies cold on his feet. I'm such a shit. He's in total shock and I'm arranging my wares. This is why he needs a mom, not some hopeless teen. I go back to him and pick him up just like I did in the old train. At first he is stiff but then he melts into my body, his arms limp, dangling like a doll. Without being aware of it my left hand rises to stroke his back. Then he begins to cry

they walk close to her, I stand up "That was a nice shot, I felt that in my guts" the men panic and began to step back "Who-what are you?" I move closer to them as fast as the speed of light I say with a batman's voice "Am batman" I push both of them against a wall

He asked me curiously blinking his big eyes at me. "Well,no Mr. Junior Parker."I laughed. "Chase say bye to Mr. Black. We should get back to our bus now." His teacher said to him. My heart ached with the thought of never meeting him again. "You're a very good man Reece. I'll tell Mommy that I met my Batman today." Chase giggled, his smile stirred something within my heart. "Do I look like the Batman with a creepy costume?" I cocked my brows. "Yes, he lands from anywhere and save a person from villains and troubles and you saved me just like him." He proudly explained me his reason of calling me his superhero.

William laughed “Thanks dad, you're the best” Zion returned from chit-chatting with his teacher in the superman costume “Uncle Dunlop, I must say your batman outfit is cool even though I'm not really a big fan of batman” “I'll take that as a compliment. Thank you” “Wow, wow, wow. Everyone's so focused on him that no one even cares or like my outfit” I said kind of hurt They finally turned attention to me “Your outfit is amazing mom” Zion said first “You and dad compliment each other. I mean there's a bit of rivalry between batman and Catwoman but they loved each other” William noted

Not only did he see them with masks but also sticks. Their uniforms showed they were boys and not the opposite sex. “Peter!” One of them yelled his name. Joe could have run at that moment, but they were standing at the exit, which was also the entrance. “What is going on?” Joe asked, frightened of the fact that held sticks. “I have been waiting for this moment, Peter” A teen with a deep voice mentioned. “Who would have thought that the most annoying bully would be so weak not to remember his identity?” A boy with a tiny voice said.

He laughed. "That explains why Melanie made this book," he said. He opened to a page and said, "Look." I looked at the page, staring at a picture of Robin on top of Batman. Well, technically it was Bruce Wayne. I smiled and chuckled. Jace kissed my head. "You're my Batman, you know," he whispered. "You always come and save my day." I looked up at him and whispered back, "So that means you're Robin? And you're on top of me?"

'' shouted Anindira, holding her feet from following the Batman, ''You're a *Sapphire, you're their leader? ''Yeah,'' he replied with a proud expression. ''Then you have power?!'' Anindira asked, he deliberately showed an expression of disbelief. “Of course!” cried the Batman immediately. ''Really?!'' Anindira shouted again. She continued to make Batman messy. ''You don't believe it?!'' cried the Bat man asked with a furious expression. ''Prove it!'' shouted Anindira, challenging him with an expression that was deliberately made up to make him show what he could do more.

Batman? Rich? Well… The rich part was true. But Batman? That was new. --- Later that evening, Naomi returned home from class. "Mama!" Leo ran to her. "What happened?" "The handsome man was in the park!" Naomi blinked. "The same man?" "Yes!" Martha laughed. "Apparently, he is Batman." Naomi burst out laughing. "Batman?" Leo nodded seriously. "Or a prince." Naomi laughed so hard that tears came out. "My little lion, you have too much imagination."

He asked, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “I think its free for me to call you daddy when mommy is not here, hehe!” he giggled. I smiled, pulling him into a hug. “Of course, champ. You want to be a Superman or maybe a Batman tonight?” He giggled again, choosing both. “Super-Batman!” he declared with a grin. Celine entered the room and approached us. “Guys, I’ll go ahead. Buddy, come here. Kiss, mommy!” she said goodbye.

He said, and his eyes scanned what they could of me. “You shouldn’t have helped me,” I told him, knowing what was now in store for him. “They will come for you next.” He didn’t look bothered; if anything, he looked happy to hear that. “Good. I look forward to it. Jack and I will have a good time teaching some assholes a lesson.” He said, raising the bat in his hand. Just who was this kid? He moved around and helped me pick up my bag and books on the floor. “You carry that thing around in school, and they let you?” I asked, eyeing his bat.
