I see myself standing before a thousand mirrors and they stretch out endlessly into a void, forming a massive, terrifying labyrinth and every single glass pane reflects a different image of me and some show my original face, line for line, while others reflect her face, Valerie’s delicate features, looking back at me with wide, haunted eyes and all of them are shifting and confusing, blurring the lines of who I am and who I am supposed to be. My God, they were beyond anything my imagination could have ever created. I wanted to confide in someone what I'd experienced. But to do so would be a confession of madness. However, the images were burned into my brain. The largest of them, the one that had saved me, was a breathtakingly terrifying creature. Its fur was a deep, dark chocolate, almost black. Its eyes had glowed a striking orange-yellow. The muscles beneath its fur rippled with power. And it had moved with a liquid grace that defied its monstrous size. As well, it had moved so fast, I'd barely been able to keep track of it. The snarls and growls it emitted had been primal, a sound that seemed to resonate in the air..

VICTORIA'S POV I closed my eyes, feeling the pressure as a buck load of images started appearing in my mind. The images of women running around, the image of some weird faces holding a committee, about an old woman holding a newborn child, about a dark stormy night with thunderstorms, a woman screaming enraged as a white light was coming out of her, about a woman who was staked with a wooden dagger, about a man crying while looking up in the sky. There was soo many images that I couldn't even focus on one of them. There were hundreds, no thousands of images.

Inside, wrapped in layers of thick, dark tissue paper, was a heavy, matte-black wooden picture frame. I pulled the frame out of the box, turning it over to look at the glass side. The moment my eyes registered the image beneath the glass, the air was violently sucked from my lungs, and my knees gave out completely. I collapsed onto the edge of the mattress, the frame clutching to my chest as a cold, paralyzing wave of terror washed over my entire body. It was a high-resolution, crystal-clear photograph.
