Alex As the plane lifted off, San Francisco became a blur of lights and distant shadows in the sky. My chest felt heavy, as if the weight of failure was pressing down on me. I had come here resolved to accomplish two goals: establish the Ava Ltd. partnership and, maybe, get my life back on track. The reverse was true; as I prepared to go, I felt only grief and regret.

"The future is never fixed." Then she smiled again. "But your journey has only begun." The world around Aria shattered into silver light. And suddenly— She was back in the arena before the Moon Stone and back before thousands of stunned wolves.

“There’s more. We didn’t just find spies. We found sigils carved into the inner foundations. Old runes. Blood runes. The kind that summon the Forsaken.” Jared’s face turned to stone. “That’s impossible. Those creatures haven’t walked the realm since the Burning War.” “Tell that to the corpse we found in the granary,” Damon replied. “Its heart was missing. And its eyes were sewn shut.” A long silence followed. Elias started laughing. “You think Xavier fears your blades? He’s raising the dead, Rhea. The music was pure metal, and the clientele was rougher than before, with girls dancing on every platform and the workers looking out of their minds. She said that Elena knows what she is doing and that I should trust her and as a parting gift, she gave me a Grimoire. I haven't told Elena about the Grimoire because I didn't know what it had inside. I was afraid that it could also be another dark object, just like the book of creation. After the mess we got through to obtain the Grimoire, we felt like maybe she should put it away.

They were images of blackened houses, broken bodies, and trembling survivors murmuring in fear. “They said they saw… shadows with horns,” Eden whispered. “They said the shadows walked through fire and didn’t burn. They tore through flesh like paper. One old man said he saw a child disappear in the blink of an eye. There was no blood. No scream. Just… gone.” Sophia paled. Her fingers trembled as she reached into the folds of her robe and pulled out a tattered, leather-bound grimoire. She flipped the pages quickly. “I’ve read this before,” she muttered,. “Long ago. When I was a child. The signs… horned shadows, vanishing people, soulless fire. It’s not mortal.”

Or do I call it a nightdream? “So noisy…” Eduardo groaned from a corner. “This one is just too noisy.” Eduardo got up from his rusty seat and greeted me with a little nod. As I lifted my hand to give a mini-wave in response, I noticed that there was something different about him… He was wearing his bloodthirsty eyes. Frank Maximus is in for some deep shit this lovely night. “Why would you do this to me?!” Frank Maximus cried harder, his knees scratching the hardness of the cage’s floor, resulting in some tears and a few bloodied injuries.

That terrified me. Please, Becca, for Biel, because he's yours too, just tell me something; give me a clue. I had the shadows press the creatures, but that seemed to infuriate them more. The clue is in the reliquary, Nadine, Becca said desperately. I sighed and grabbed the jewelry box quickly. “What do you do?” asked Aris. “The grimoire was the answer to the Wasteland curse,” I said calmly. “The reliquary should be a clear clue to that.”
