CHAPTER 168: Green Intruder Third person’s POV: The river roared through the heart of FireHeart Pack’s land, its currents swift and relentless, reflecting the fiery hues of the setting sun. This was the exact place where the infamous Alpha Rhaella, the Queen of Alphas was found half-dead. This place was the beginning and the birth of a legend. Beyond the river, the pack’s territory was vast, a stretch of dense pine forests and towering cliffs that cladded a well tiled road but yet, the sweet scent of damp earth and wild musk filled the air.

Two women stood slightly behind him, likely his family. “I’d like to introduce you both,” Alpha Hearts said, “to Alpha Uren of the neighboring village—and his family. Alpha Uren, this is River Seller, the newest addition to our pack.” Alpha Uren stepped forward with a pleasant smile, his gaze warm but assessing. “Ah… so you’re the one we saw during the ceremony,” he said. “Very graceful.” “Thank you, Alpha,” I said with a polite bow of my head. “You’re quite beautiful,” he added, his eyes kind but direct. “Are you mated?”

It gave Ivy the chance to clear her mind. "Who is that man?" She asked curiously. "Alpha Rock? He is the Alpha of Alphas which means the strongest. His wolf is invisible but this is the first time I've seen him shift too," he explained. Now she understood the reason why disappeared, her mind cleared from the fog but turned anxious again. "Won't he hurt my sister?" "He's quite gentle towards women. He has a sister that he and his brother treat like a princess," Stock tried to analyse Rocks' nature.

It was the power he carried with him. One glare from Master Henderson made his men shiver in fear. Master Henderson can decide if they will include them to be sold. One single mistake and they will kiss their freedom goodbye. "Master Henderson!" I called him. His eyes narrowed at my approaching form. "Who are you?" Looking down while bowing, I said, "I am River from the Lycan kingdom. One of Alpha King Maxxwell. Alpha of all alphas." Glaring at me, he asked, "Are you a noble? Your clothes are not that noble-like. You're mated. Where is your mate?"

* Mike replies just as the large doors to the throne room open once more. I peer at the Alpha who confidently strides forward. His tall dark frame with familiar green eyes lock on mine and he smiles wide and brilliantly. “Marcus?” I say with a frown because the man is almost the carbon copy of Lamia’s father. “Your Highness,” The Alpha bows, “Alpha Albert of the River Moon pack.” He speaks now nodding his head at Mike as a greeting. Mike smiles and bounces down the steps. “Alpha Albert, it’s a pleasure to meet you finally.” Mike extends his hand to the Alpha who takes it, and they shake vigorously. “My father will be sorry he missed you.”

He was a little more muscular and much more confident. "Is he your mate?" Noah asked, playing dumb. River's face scrunched up as he looked between Atticus and Noah. "No! Why does everyone keep asking that? That's so weird!" River said as he began squirming, trying to get out of the Alpha's arms. The Alpha is a good-looking man and all, but he has no desire to be with him. Just the thought of kissing the Alpha makes River want to gag. It would be like kissing his own father.

“Good, so you know I won’t let anything bad happen to you or your mommy. She may not be here right now, but we’ll bring her back to you as soon as possible, okay? For now, look around you, Neo, you have a lot of friends and toys to play with. Just wait a little bit for your mom, alright? Can you do that, big boy?” Neo bit his lip and I could tell he was still trying to stop himself from crying. As much as it hurt for me to see him like this, I didn’t have much of a choice. Alpha James gritted his teeth, scanning the riverbank alongside his beta. “I don't think he is here yet,” his beta commented. “Who sets up a meeting and arrives late? It's unprofessional,” Alpha James grumbled, the sound of a roaring engine in the distance catching their attention. The car sped toward them, Ryder seemingly attempting to strike them both with his vehicle. Alpha James and his beta swiftly jumped in opposite directions, with Alpha James landing in the cold river. Emerging to the surface, he pushed his wet hair back, spitting out water from his mouth.

"Woo-hoo. Four hundered big ones, buddy. Pay up!" River groans, digging out his money clip and walks over to Franco. "Nice shot." He says as he counts hundreds into Franco's excited palm. Franco grips the cash. "Thank you, my good man." He stuffs the cash in his pocket. "Now, Alpha. I believe you are dead as a doornail." River grumbles. "Yeah, yeah, yeah." He turns to walk out of the woods. "Hey, Alpha!" I yell after him. He turns. "See you after training. You're mine for 4 hours."

I stood on the balcony of my room, my keen eyes tracking Cassa in the back garden as she snapped pictures of flowers and anything else that caught her fancy. I glanced at my phone screen, where the name Calver Dasotta flashed back at me. Of course, the tattoo was familiar—he was the Alpha of the Dasotta pack, one of the most powerful in the North. They didn’t belong to the union pack, though; the Dasottas had their own legacy to uphold.
