The Alpha's Contract Luna の小説・ストーリー

Fern walks towards me, flanked by the two witches and two warlocks I had already met before. “You know what to do, make them submit to you.” Her voice seems to travel the distance of the marquee and yet be a small whisper in my ear, only for me. “I…can’t.” I mutter. “Yes you can. This is what you were born for. You are the Alpha Luna, you are the missing piece of the puzzle. The bridge between the werewolf and lycan community. You have seen death Aida, mind magic can not work on you. Push your mind further than others, push your aura further than ever before.”

Kira explained. Damien took in a deep breath. “I agree with you Alpha Kira. So far, there has barely been anymore cases of random death in my pack so it’s safe to say they want us to let our guards down before attacking us so we will just have to play along their game and make them think what we want them to think,” he said, adding more reasons to why he trusted Kira's judgement.

Their silence was heavy and when I looked up, I noticed the strange look they passed around. "It's alright. I'll feed you," the one next to me offered and he drew closer. I didn't take him seriously until he scooped the food and brought it closer to my lips. I noticed the other two had no problems with it so I relaxed into it. "We'll hold the mating ceremony tomorrow so try to get enough rest," Alpha Thorn announced. "But the contract will be signed tonight." "Contract," I repeated. Yes, they mentioned this before. I would be their Luna for one year and after that, they would let me go. I wondered if that was just a plan to keep me as their mate by their side because why else would they offe

I asked Owen, still finding it hard to believe that less than a minute ago, I discovered who my mate was, and he turned out to be an Alpha. If that isn't crazy, I don't know what is. "I guess you could say you have some luck. You're not going to get killed, but you'll be confined, whether you like it or not," he replied, and I frowned. "Confined? What do you mean by confined? He wouldn't do that to his mate, would he?" I asked, and a wicked cackle escaped his lips. "Don't even think about it, Missy. The Alpha is already engaged to his future Luna, and in the grand scheme of things, you don't exactly matter," Owen responded, and my heart sank into my stomach.

I growled. Shocked, she let go of Lena's hand and turned around to face me, I could see the fear and stubbornness in her eyes. “What are you doing here Scarlett? How dare you attack her?” I asked her as I walked slowly closer to her. “How dare I? I can do whatever I well please, I am Luna!” She shouts. “And I'm the Alpha.” I growl so loud, the beakers on the table shake and Scarlett takes a few steps back and goes quiet, I'm sure she can see now that I'm serious.

Lacy chastised me. “I’m going to after I’m done with payroll.” “Oh, good call. Well, I'll see you two later.” “Bye,” I told Lacy. Lacy walked from my office and Sloan took a seat again as I got back to my work. As I typed away, Sloan asked a few more questions. “I get what an Alpha, Beta, and Gamma do, but what is a Luna and what does she do?” “The Luna is the Alpha’s mate. She helps with the Alpha duties and manages the packhouse.”

Right at the top of the stairs, my beta, Axel, waited for me with a few maids that I instantly instructed to take care of her. “How did it go?” Axel asked almost immediately through our mind link so that no one could hear us. I didn’t respond. I knew just what he was talking about, he was aware of the only reason why I needed a pretend Luna for the next six months. The council gave me an ultimatum to provide a Luna within the space of a week, that was the only thing I needed to qualify me to become the Alpha of Alphas. A powerful position that held power and prestige that every Alpha including Marcus coveted.

My mom, Daphney's parents, and a few relatives sat in what looked like a tiny, depressing conference room in the pack of Zia's. "What are we to say to the council?" a woman named Elder Marbel finally asked after a few torturous moments of silence. "Honestly, I suppose," the Luna replied. She looked like she hadn't slept in days. "Luna, you know Aiden can't do that. We're barely holding him steady in the Alpha position as it is," she snapped, making Aiden's eyes flash with annoyance. *Holding him steady?* What does that even mean? Isn't he already the Alpha?

“For a while, I’ve wanted something badly, without actually realizing I’ve wanted that. And yesterday… for a moment, I thought… I have it. That it’s real. It’s true. Tell me, is it true?” A smile spreads across Melony’s face but it fades away just as soon. “Have you ever heard of an alpha being able to telepathically communicate with the beta of another pack? Only an alpha can communicate with members of his pack. But,” she pauses, looking away. “Do you know who else can communicate through minds despite not sharing a pack?” For a moment her words seem too good to be true. But I know that they make complete sense. My heart begins racing in my chest and I feel breathless all at the same time.

We became untouchable - invisible even. North Lotus used to be a force to be reckoned. However, none of that mattered now. We were only living off our previous glory and each day was a futile battle to return our pack to what we once were. A few people say that the day North Lotus collapsed was the day her Mum, Luna Dakota Dolphus, became Alpha. That was the day division birthed amongst the pack and it fed off the fact that Mum was a ‘woman’ and a woman couldn’t be Alpha.
