The Alpha's Rejected Heir Novels & Stories

My father said calmly, not even glancing at me as he perused through some files on his desk. “Yes but he didn’t want to be Alpha. That’s why I’ve been training for it. Remember?” My father put down his documents and looked me in the eye. “I see greed in you Jin Woo. You wouldn’t make a good Alpha. Our people need a leader who would lead them selflessly not because he wants power. Your hunger for power is scary. I had to stop you before it’s too late.” My heart shattered into pieces hearing those words. After all these years, I had been preparing myself to become Alpha but then my brother who showed no interest at all suddenly woke up and snatched it away from me. I won't accept this.

"Still complaining about headaches and weakness." "Still dying, you mean." I drop my keys on the counter. "The mate bond rejection is in its final stages. You've known this for months." "I know you're being dramatic." He stands and faces me. "You're an Alpha. You're stronger than this superstitious nonsense." "It's not superstition." I meet his eyes. "I've shown you the research. Case Study #47. The Alpha heir who died within a year of rejecting his mate. That was eight months ago for me, Father. I have weeks left."

Alexander scoops her up as her eyes roll back and her small body starts seizing. “My car. Now.” We’re running across the park. Other parents are staring but I don’t care. Alexander puts Mia in the backseat and I climb in beside her as he peels out of the parking lot. He’s on his phone, one hand on the wheel. “This is Alpha Hunt. Pediatric patient, six years old, genetic rejection syndrome. The Alpha bond is catastrophically failing. We’re ten minutes out.” Mia is seizing in my arms and there’s blood coming from her nose now too. The golden glow that’s been around her for a week is flickering like a dying lightbulb, fading with each passing second.

’ My mind was a whirlwind of disbelief. ‘The merger, the 20% shares, the Stone legacy—it’s all getting buried under whatever this is,’ I reflected, the weight of the Cheshire Pack’s future pressing against my heart. “Remember, Aria. He’s the High Alpha. He’s the uncle of the male you just dumped. He’s a tool for your survival, nothing more,” I told my reflection in the rearview mirror. It was a hollow warning. I knew that if I let my guard down again, the High Alpha wouldn't just take my shares—he’d take everything.

"You’re still here." With a faint smile on his lips, he opened his eyes. "I'm not an Alpha anymore." His voice was scratchy as he replied, "but I’m still me." With her heart bursting with gratitude and love, Lena planted a kiss on his forehead. "That’s all that matters." Alric watched the scene silently, his expression unreadable. Finally, he spoke. "It’s done. The shadows are gone, and the curse is broken." ---

I had overheard them talking, and their words had stayed with me ever since. “Luna Everleigh hasn’t given Alpha Theo an heir yet. What’s her use?” “Alpha Theo needs a strong alpha bloodline. She’s failing him.” “She’s just a useless miscreant who got lucky. Who knows what she must’ve done with her body that she hasn’t been able to reproduce.”

"Gosh, no wonder he is so sad. I never thought that he was Amanda's ex-mate. Right now, things are getting complicated." The story had it that he had rejected Melissa, and she was Melissa's friend. Alpha Alex on the other hand accepted her even when he knew she was a witch now she didn't even know if she was doing the right thing, being Melissa's friend and being in good standing with Alex since he did such a thing to her.

Underneath the photo was a second message, which was just an address. “I don’t know where that is,” I whispered. Was this what he did when I wasn’t with him? Did I know my husband at all? Zoe took the phone back and gave it a quick glance before saying, “I do. It’s a club, not far from here. Well – not a club club, exactly. It’s more of a private venue, used for gatherings by the Alpha families.” My heart sank even further. “How will I get in? I’m part of an Alpha family through marriage; I’m not a legitimate heir.”

I looked back up into her eyes and it hit me. I was too distracted by my adoration of her, too lost in her absolute beauty, too busy trying to breathe in her presence that I missed what she was afraid of showing me. She’s an Heir. Facts started to assault my thoughts, coming in rapid-fire as I pieced everything together about what Sebastian told me and who Alice really is. ‘Alice doesn’t have an Alpha.’ Of course she doesn’t, because she IS an Alpha. He’s an Alpha. Her brother is an Alpha. Was.

In the world of Alphas, where egos often clashed, we had managed to maintain a steadfast bond that transcended any obstacle. I couldn’t help but reflect on Alex’s journey after his parents were killed during a rogue attack when we were just sixteen. Stepping up as Alpha amid tragedy, he faced numerous challenges, including his uncle’s opposition. He managed to rebuild his pack from the ground up, staying true to his ideals. Together with Sean and me, he founded a successful company and took over his late father’s other ventures. Beneath his smile lay the pain of his past, hidden from most.
