The six-year-old, Adelina, flashed a dimpled smile at me while Alette gave me a wary glance. “This is my true-mate, Raelynn.” “Don’t mind Alette, she worry’s too much.” Adelina snorted, smiling at Atlas and I, much more intelligent than I would’ve pegged a six-year-old. “She’s Atlas’s true-mate Alette, you know she wouldn’t hurt us.”

He doesn’t go over the top and mansplain as though he thought you were dumb. He doesn’t say anything at first, just stands there, face thunder-gray. “We need to talk,” he says finally, voice low enough to pull me aside. The words smell of confrontation and something close to hurt. Zarek’s shoulder brushes mine. He swivels, blocking Atlas’s path without effort. “You got something to say to her?” he asks, all nonchalance, like a cat that’s found a stray on its porch and decided to claim it.

My wolf and I both growl as we size up the piece of shit who wanted to lay claim on our mate. Mitch and two males I’m guessing are Dakota’s brothers crowd around Atlas. No, the prince. Suddenly, five more naked males come out of the woods, and hover around him. His eyes dart all over, he’s terrified. “Father, let’s talk about this okay? There doesn’t need to be any more bloodshed,” Atlas says. Kent paces in my mind, ready to shift on a dime if it comes down to it. But it would be pretty fucking stupid especially considering the weapons of the males on horses.

He had run here unshifted. Fran gives me control and I shift back. “What do you want Atlas?” I ask, stepping from behind Dexter. Wesley is beside me. “I want my mate,” Atlas smirks. “Marrianna is your mate,” I tell him.

Eugene trembled. Despite being a frail old man, just by looking at his appearance, I knew this old guy wasn't a good person. His eyes not only revealed a sinister nature but also a desperate struggle. "Even if you manage to stand up again, you won't have a chance!" Atlas finished, then spoke to someone outside. "Come in." As soon as Atlas spoke, Liora stood up and tried to rush toward me… Before she could reach me, Atlas quickly pulled me to the other side. Without hesitation, he kicked Liora forcefully, sending her crashing to the ground.

Cheeks nodded at Lukas and Atlas. "We're considered Prime Directs through our connection to Kiema, but we're not gods. I'm a null and Atlas is a shifter." My ears perked up. "What kind?" "Wolf." The guy with the chin-length white blonde hair said. He didn't add anything to his answer. I nodded. "Dragons." Atlas smiled. "Ten is our only dragon. But outside of him, we don't know too much about them. I would love to ask you all some questions. Help us expand our library of knowledge."
