It was like a beast of the old religion. Watching her in horror reminded me of my days of gulping down and feeding my mind in my father's library as a teenager. I remember that one of the books I read in his library contained an image of a beast with four horns seated on a massive head, long tail. The beast had its long, pointed fangs bared to something at the other end of the page. It had long claws which according to the legend, were capable of tearing through anything, including metal.

The Beast clawed at my chest, shredding my starmetal shirt. "Burn!" I screamed. I unleashed a pulse of solar flare directly into its mouth. FWOOM. The fire went down its throat. The Beast didn't die. It swallowed. It drank the fire. Its stomach glowed orange for a second, then faded back to gray. It licked its lips. "MORE," a voice hissed from inside the beast. Not the Beast's voice. The voice of the Skeleton in the deep. The Beast clamped its jaws shut. My hands were inside.

We log everything in the computer. “Sure. They’re in the back.” I grab Freya right before she knocks the pens over and walk briskly to the back, keeping my eyes down so I don’t get flagged by a customer. “Why are you reading the Book of the Beast?” Kristy asks as soon as the door closes in the back behind her. “I’m trying to figure out how to kill a demon in its true form.” “Have you gone crazy?”

My eyes instantly opened when my legs were easily grabbed. The beast pulled me to its side like I was nothing, it showed its full dominance by the loud sneer that was making me want to submit. I knew I wasn't strong enough to fight or escape it, but that didn't mean I was going to willingly do what the beast wanted, at least at that minute. I wasn't going to submit no matter what. "Let me go, what do you want from me!" I screamed on top of my voice. It growled again and this time it pushed me to a rock where I hit my head.

However, it wasn’t that easy. “H-How?” Levi stammered, but eagerness was visibly written in his voice. “It isn’t easy. I went to the South and met a lot of rogues. Some became my enemies, and some became acquaintances. They helped me find a way to control the beast inside me.” He explained.
