The Blade Itself Audiobook Free Novels & Stories

Where he had stood, only fire-smoke and silence remained. --- I stood over the ruin, shaking, blood soaking my arm, lungs scraping like torn bellows. My wolf pressed its muzzle against my ribs. Nyxara whispered, quiet now: The first god has fallen. The words echoed. The First Blade was dead. By my hand.

A taunting voice mocks right behind me. I stop moving when something cold presses against my cheek. A blade. “It is a sound of victory for me… and defeat for you.” My chest tightens. I can’t breathe. “Don’t ever forget it, Chane.” My vision shakes. “I am always watching you.” The blade slides across my skin. Deliberate. Warm blood follows. And clink, the knife drops to the ground, footsteps pound heavily as the chains begin to fade. The sound disappears. The fire dies.

I’m not sure when I send the blade flying, but in one second my hand is empty. I vaguely hear the sound of metal cutting through the air. In the next second, It slices through candlelight, haze and history. Then— Impact. Not the clean, hollow plunge I rehearsed a hundred times in my head. There’s resistance. A sickening scrape. Metal meeting flesh, then bone. A sharp, strangled inhale. The blade does not sink where it should.

The moonlight caught the edge of the blade, making it glow like a silver tooth. He started to wail, a long, thin sound that cut through the night. "Shhh," I whispered, mocking the way a mother might talk to a child. I swung the blade. The sound was wet. There was a sudden spray of warmth against my hand. I stood back up and wiped the blade on a clump of moss. The man on the ground stopped making noise. The woods went back to being quiet, save for the distant shouts of my friends further down the hill.

’ I added, making her blush. Just then, my phone rang and I pulled it out, frowning down at the number. Janaina… Giving the group a nod and Kiara a tap on the ass, I walked towards the front garden, not wanting anyone to hear the conversation. "Yeah? What’s up?" "I wanted to let you know that I have created the blade. The question is, have you chosen someone to wield it? Remember there is only one chance." She said quietly, I glanced back towards the open front door at Chris and Liam, seeing Liam’s sharp eyes watching me.

And it will be impossible for them to destroy the true enemy - the Beast! John inspected his blades and stroked them, especially admiring the sterling silver engraving that showed up as soon as he held them in his hands. The Blades recognized their Master, their Creator. "My blades," Black whispered, still holding his blades in his hands. - How, it turns out, I missed you!

Blade’s hands clench into fists and he says, “She does not belong to you, Luther. She is not yours to keep!” Luther finally had taken a sip of blood and I can feel him becoming more powerful from the small sip. Instead of using his thoughts to answer I tell him softly. “You can speak.” He instantly snaps at Blade, “She is not yours to keep either!” Adam looks between the two of them and says, “You both need to settle down.” Blade growls, “Well, since she’s finally able to be away from you I think I’ll speak with her privately.” The surprise I feel from his statement makes me drop the tether, instantly I can hear Luther’s startled cry of pain from the release. I rush down the hall, seeing bot

The man's daughter, tiptoed as he bent over for her to reach Axe, her small fingers reaching out to touch Axe's bruised arm, whispered, "It's okay, mister. Papa will take care of you." ‘I came here to find a kid to raise into an indomitable bodyguard that will be loyal to you for life, and yet you chose such a weakling and useless thing?’ Chairman Blade thought, staring down at Axe and then at the worried way his daughter glanced at him, her tiny hand holding onto hid dirty ones as tears trickled down her peachy cheeks.

a voice whispers in the back of my mind, a faint echo of something I’ve heard before. My eyes dart to the ground, scanning for anything that might help. And then I see it, a blade, discarded and glinting faintly in the dim light. It’s coated in wolf’s poison, the only thing that could weaken someone like him. I don’t think. I move. Diving toward the blade, I roll as the Blade Alpha’s claws tear through the space where I was moments ago. My hand closes around the hilt, the cold metal biting into my palm.
