I just picked one at random and went back to my bed. I didn’t even read the title of the book. I just opened in on a random page and began to read it. Moonlit Shadows Amidst the towering skyscrapers of the city, nestled within an alley forgotten by time, stood an abandoned building. Its once vibrant facade had succumbed to the embrace of decay, and its grandeur had faded to mere whispers in the wind. But this building held secrets, secrets that called out to those who dared to listen.

Everytime i would ask her if everything was ok she would just brush it off . After we looked in a few shops she wanted to have a look in an old book shop at the other side of town . I Love books. I was eager to go and have a look . As we approached the other end of the town I started to feel uneasy , the hairs on the back of my neck were standing on end . As if i was being watched , scanning the area, I noticed the streets at this end of town are deserted. Turning to Nyx I asked “ Are you sure this is where the book shop is ?”

Half a month later, in the middle of the night, my phone buzzed with a message. It was from Lex. [Audrey, I'm sorry.] I stared at it for a moment, then put the phone down. I didn't reply. Our story had ended long ago. I closed that chapter. From now on, our lives will go their own way—like two roads that'll never cross again.

She turned onto Eidolon, past the dingy dive with its crackling neon sputtering red against the gray-black of low clouds and the threat of rain. Angled to cross the street, glancing up to check for passing cars though, in truth, it was rare to find cars creeping down Eidolon. Like those missing girls, this street, too, sometimes felt forgotten and invisible. A moment later, the door to Eidolon in sight, it happened. She dropped her books. As if upended by a homeroom bully, they shot up and out, tumbling from her arms to fall, scattering on the sidewalk.

"Ugh, shameless gold diggers like her should just get lost!" "Yeah, as far away as possible!" I leaned against the corner of the wall, listening to them hold a public trial against me. Night fell once again. I stood up dazedly from the corner and suddenly realized that my soul had become much fainter. Could it be that even my time as a ghost was running out? "Hmm." In his sleep, William furrowed his brows. I floated over, wanting to smooth them out for him. But then, he suddenly spoke. "Whitney, I hate you!"

The words on the pages seemed to come alive, whispering secrets and tales of bravery that inspired her to push forward. She did admit to herself many times that it would have been nice to hear Sasha’s whining and Jackson’s joke, whether they were funny or not. This led her thoughts to Lydia who would undoubtedly love the book she was studying and then there was Mikael the biggest worry ward she knew, she would mostly likely be pacing up and down or vamping through the forest aimlessly seeking his king. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Scarlett arrived at the outskirts of Eldora The city stood majestic and ethereal, bathed in a soft glow as if protected by a veil of ancient magic. S
