The shelves had been scattered around and books were flying all around the small space. My left leg was stuck under one of the shelves and i had to manage and pull it off in an awkward position with just two of my hands until my leg was free and i could feel the enormous pain but that did not stop me from finding the book. I had been searching while struggling with a broken foot for a book that held the rest of my future, and when i finally found it, i was completely shattered. I did not want to cry, i could not, all along i told myself i was iron woman, made of steel and nothing would break me. Nothing could.

I'm dying. But so is he. He's fighting back with everything. More illusions crash over me. My body is jerking violently. But I hold on and push harder, finding the core of what makes him him—that cold, cruel center where all his power comes from—and I start ripping it apart piece by piece. He screams. The sound is physical and mental—echoing through both the battlefield and the connection between us. I feel the moment his mind shatters. Feel his consciousness fragment and scatter like broken glass. His body goes rigid under my hands.

"What is this? Are you trying to make me feel better or something? Stop it, Allen. I don't need that kind of positive reinforcement. The fact is, I'm broken, right?" "Ash!" Aslan rolled his eyes. "What? Never mind, don't deny it. This has been my condition for a long time, right? Besides, I'm the one with the condition, you don't have to worry about it." Allen sighed. He knew Aslan just hated his condition, but Allen did not like it every time Aslan called himself broken. In Allen's eyes, Aslan was normal. A normal human being. He was just a little different from the other Alphas, and that did not change anything. He was still Allen's little brother, and Allen loved him.
