The Catcher In The Rye How Many Pages Novels & Stories

I can’t remember turning it on. I bend down to pick up the book. It was his favorite, ‘The Catcher in the Rye’ by J. D. Salinger. He took it everywhere he went. The day I had to collect his things at the hospital, it was just this and an old jacket that once belonged to my dad. The book, old and worn, has scribbled handwriting inside, like it was written in a hurry before the thought was lost. I close my eyes and open it on a random page. I read the first quote I can find:

Flipping through the composition book, I could make out pages upon pages filled with neat handwriting, what looked like ten chapters worth of reading, and even… a couple of smutty scenes. My cheeks warmed as I flipped to a random page and read something about the dragon turning into a man, and…

He really wanted to stop, but now that he had started it, Asher had to see it through. However, when he checked the diary again, the page he turned to was empty, and so were the remaining pages. Huh? What? Was that all...? Panic clawed up his chest, and he clumsily checked the pages again. It really was empty. Fuck!! He was about to throw it across the room when his eyes suddenly caught that jagged edge that only happens in a book when pages had been torn out. His stomach clenched as he counted the jagged edges. Twenty in total.

Apart from the size being thrice smaller compared to our previous apartment, the room only had one small window and doesn't have AC. So before Penelope's forehead could produce sweat, we started studying the book. The book had almost a thousand pages. What I proposed to maximize our scanning was we equally divided the number of pages. For the first half of the book, Penelope took a look at them while the rest were mine. We studied and read every image and word written on every page. We still don't know what exactly we are looking for but as long as it has something to do with the creation of the cure to get rid of Karen's monster without killing her human side.

It all looked very interesting. I turned a few more pages. "How far are you with translating?" I asked him, while still running my fingers on the words that continued to give me a funny feeling. I turned to the next page and my breath hitched. "I'm on the 74th page." He answered and I looked down at the page number I was on. Page 501. He still had a long way to go. My face flushed and I couldn't get my eyes off the beast I was staring at. The book had no images with colour, but I could already imagine the creature with bright glowing green eyes.

and I showed him the book I am holding. “Is that your story, right?” Syrel asked and she gets the book away from me. “What the heck. There is nothing inside” she reacted when she saw the content of the book. “It’s just a sample handbound of my story. Besides, where are calculating how we can put all of it in just one book. Look at it, it’s thick because it has 500+ pages” I explained to her. “So don’t expect that it has contents now because it’s just a sample” I added.

Except for that black magic, this book is also confusing. I took the book from Ruby and took a look at it. My eyes widened when I noticed something. "There is a missing page." I checked the page numbers to prove that I was right. "Page 66 on chapter 6, it's missing." "666, is it the number of evil? Woah, this is really interesting." Hera exclaimed. "Let's look for it here." I told them, they quickly moved and looked for the missing page inside the library, maybe it was torn apart and was thrown in this room. Or maybe, someone has intentionally taken that and kept it so no one would know what's written in that page.

I still have a few months of my Luna training. I still have a lot to learn but I am pretty confident in my abilities and I know it will get easier with time. My phone buzzed and I checked. I smiled when I saw that Hillan texted me. “Here is the p*f of what I told you about. Will bring the physical copy when I visit.” His text read. I downloaded the file and clicked on it. My eyes widened when I saw that it had four thousand pages. Four freaking thousand. That’s a lot of pages to read. I quickly texted back a thank you and clicked the file again.
