Too familiar.” Caelum jerked his head aside, jaw set in defiance. “I am The Crown Prince of the Ashan Federation. The last of my line. You think me weak? You butcher, you carrion lord—you murdered my father, my brothers, in the War of Crimson Eclipse!” His voice cracked, fury and grief in equal measure. “And still you dare to touch me.”

Princes were meant to let generals bully nobles quietly and pretend it was justice. I didn’t pretend. Aldrich turned his gaze to me, and the look he gave me was cold. “You should be careful,” he said, voice smooth. “The evidence I have also implicates you.” The words hit the hall like a rock dropped in water. Shock rippled. Ministers stared. Ivana’s eyes widened a fraction. Richard’s posture tightened beside me. I frowned. “Then share it,” I said flatly. Aldrich’s mouth curved slightly. “You want me to share evidence that incriminates a prince? In open court?”

Anything would have been better than standing between a prince and an Alpha while the entire pack watched the cracks spread. The priest recovered first. “Prince Kael,” he said, gentler now, because gentleness could be another kind of control. “Your concern has been heard. Elara will not be touched unless necessary.” Concern. Kael’s face hardened. “That is not what this is.” The denial came too fast. Too sharp. Elara felt it strike something inside her, though she did not know why it hurt. Of course, it was not a concern. Concern was soft. This was something else.

It seems like everything has been covered, and everything is as it should be. Until I reach the second-to-last page, that is. I let in a sharp hiss, reading the same sentence over and over again. Sensing my reaction, my mother looks at me with panicked eyes. “See?” She says, gesturing emphatically. “See–read it out!” I take in a deep breath. To say it out loud feels like admitting defeat, but I can’t deny what’s written right in front of me. “Lycan Prince Colin Flint shall replace Lycan Prince Spencer Flint as the new Crown Prince of the Lycan Royal Family.”

I finally got a copy of “The Fall of The First Prince.” Reading through it, the things that had been changed stood out immensely. What stood out the most was the ending. In the original book, the Prince won the battle but stepped down from his right to the throne for the love of the woman he was with. In the book I’d gotten from the library, he was killed, and she was held captive at the end, though it had tried to be represented as love. Well, that sent a clear message to me. Whoever did this wanted me dead and Jillie to be with them. I scoffed. Like that was going to happen.

“Go back to your room , salsa. I need to rest now” Princess Rania said , looking away. Happiness and curiosity took her mind away that she forgot about her ill father. Was that the reason for his sudden sickness? Poor king! The Emperor was cruel and wicked. Rumors said his second , prince Ivar was heartless. Only those who went to battle saw him. They said he fought like a creature from the underworld. This scared people away from him. Princess Rania wished never see the favorite prince of Aragón. Such a heartless man was supposed to be thrown in a den full of Lion. Whatever may happen to him there, should be recorded in the book of criminals.

If I were to befriend Emma, couldn't I also frequently encounter Draco? General Oscar picked it up and read it. He saw that there was the fourth prince’s stamp on the letter.
