I mean, seriously, I’m a student and a stripper – not some kind of super spy. When the clothes pass muster, Christian starts to pull out my books. The textbooks he passes over pretty quickly, though he raises an eyebrow at my subjects of study, either surprised or derisive. I wrap my hands around my elbows, anxious. When he gets to my notebooks, though, I lean forward in surprise. “That one,” I say, raising my chin a little towards the stack in his hand. “The one with the brown cover – that’s…not mine.” “It’s not?” he asks, glancing at the others.

Flynn kissed me until my knees went weak and buckled. When I lost all strength and collapsed, he caught me by the waist, pulling me up and deepening this burning kiss. His other hand slipped under my shirt, roaming back and forth over my skin. Maybe it was hormones messing with my brain, but I didn't resist him at all. I just silently let myself sink into it. I felt something big and hard pressing against my lower abdomen through our clothes. The second I realized where this was heading, my mind snapped back into focus. My rational side woke up again, and I pushed him away at once.

"I hope these still work." The Last Editor slowly walked forward. His face remained hidden beneath the shadow of the lantern. Only his voice reached them. "Stories multiply." "Worlds multiply." "Choices multiply." "And eventually..." "...everything collapses beneath its own weight." Another drop of black ink struck the floor. A second aisle vanished. The books that had just been created from Adrian's journey faded into mist before anyone could touch them. The White Book trembled violently. Golden cracks spread across its cover. Adrian held it tightly.

She lifted the heavy textbook high above her head and slammed it down with all her strength directly onto the side of Cassian’s head. BAM. The heavy book made a loud, cracking sound against his temple. The force of the blow was so sudden and strong that Cassian’s grip instantly broke. He stumbled backward three steps, his hands flying up to clutch his head as a sharp groan of pain escaped his lips. Chloe immediately stepped into the space between us, holding the massive textbook in front of her chest like a defensive shield. Her body was shaking, but she stood completely straight, acting as an unyielding barrier to protect me from the high-ranking Alpha heir.

"You're a cripple now, so let's see how you're going to fight me now." Suddenly, his hand tilted, and the entire glass of scalding hot milk poured over my arm. A sharp, burning pain exploded through my nerves as I grunted in pain, and my crutch slipped from my grip. I lost balance and crashed heavily to the floor. A searing agony ripped through my leg, and cold sweat from pain soaked my back. But what broke me more was the music box that tumbled from my arms and clattered onto the floor with a crisp crack.

He reached down to touch the calf of his left leg. It was grotesquely swollen, the skin an abnormal purple. A vicious gash ran across it, the edges jagged. Untended, it was clearly infected and festering.

“IT–IT CAN’T BE!” Rosa began ripping books down. Thick volumes crashed around the feet of the chair. She choked on her sobs, hands trembling as she threw them all, one after another into the flood, crying like a mad woman. Pages fluttered open like gaping mouths whispering secrets she didn’t want to hear. Rosa climbed down and sank onto her knees, dropping herself in between the dark books. “I don’t believe it!” she wailed, hands clawing through the open pages. “I don’t–I don’t believe it!”

She tossed the rubbish into a basket at her feet and flipped through a couple of open books curiously. “The Holy Inquisition,” she read the title of one of the works. “Heavy,” she took the book and put it down. - So, what do we have? "The Powers of the Elemental Witches," an entertaining read. She opened it about half way through and ran her eyes over the yellowish sheets. “Pffff, what idiot wrote that? If you read, so the Great Flood is our work.

He cursed and abruptly flipped my body around, and my forehead hit the brick wall. I am now facing the wall. With him behind me, trapping me with his body. My eyes widened in horror when I heard him unzip his pants followed by his hand pulling down my pants. This reality came crashing down on me so suddenly that I felt like my world was crumbling. I couldn’t be more disgusted when he moaned, jerking behind me as something hard stroked my inner thigh. My sobs got louder as he kept stroking the area between my thigh. He gripped my underwear so harshly that it hurt, and I’m thinking that he might just rip it apart.
