He tasted like coffee and mint, and when he tilted his head to deepen the kiss, a soft sound escaped me that I would be embarrassed about later but couldn't bring myself to care about now. The first time Adrian had kissed me was at the his grandmother's birthday party. It had been unexpected, since it was the first intimate kiss he and I had ever shared. The others had been perfunctory. A peck at a public event, performed for cameras, with all the passion of a man signing a business contract. I'd replayed that kiss in my mind a thousand times, trying to convince myself it had meant nothing and that we'd been carried away and caught up in a moment that had none. She didn't expect him to kiss her. Casey licked her lips and nods slowly. "Yes, Cora. He's my first kiss. He's not only my first kiss, but he's also my first dance. He reached for me. I froze. His hand wrapped around mine, and then, in one swift pull, he drew me toward him. Our chests collided. My breath escaped in a sharp gasp. He was so close. His scent washed over me again, wild and grounding, like woods after rain. He stared down at me, his eyes unreadable, and then— He kissed me. His lips met mine without warning, and I stood frozen in shock. My first kiss. My first real touch of love.

Altan took her hand, pulled her towards him, and placed his lips on hers. Esen felt as if time had stopped. It was her first kiss, the first real one. For the first time, she felt the touch of a man in her life. He held her tightly, as if he wanted to make sure she would not get away from him, and he kissed her with intensity and passion that made it difficult for Esen to breathe. The moment he put his tongue into her mouth, she melted.
