She waited, timing it perfectly, watching as the guardian thrashed and struggled against their combined strength. Then she saw her opening. "Move!" Damon, Dazzle, and Leo threw themselves backward just as Autumn hurled the vial directly at the guardian's chest. It hit the glowing crack dead center. For a moment, nothing happened. Then the world exploded. The vial detonated with a force that sent them all flying backward. Fire and stone erupted outward in a massive blast, the shockwave rippling across the clearing. The guardian let out one final, agonized roar as its body began to crack apart from the inside.

"No." The Guardian's voice hardened. "You don't." She pointed toward the water. "It has destroyed kings. It has broken gods. It nearly consumed me." Kael blinked. "You went in there?" The Guardian folded her arms. "I was young. I was foolish. I was dating a poet." Everyone stared. Morwen sighed. "That explains everything." The Guardian ignored her. Killian stepped forward. But before he could move, a hand grabbed his wrist. Seraphina. He slowly turned, meeting her gaze. For a long moment, neither spoke.

The guardian’s voice remained gentle, almost sorrowful. “He has hidden from you three times.” I frowned. “He changed direction after the northern crossing.” Images flashed through my mind. The abandoned campsite. The cold ashes. The trail that suddenly disappeared. I remained quiet The guardian continued. “He circled east after reaching the cliffs.” Another memory surfaced. “He crossed his own trail near the frozen river.” I slowly looked at Thorne. His face had gone pale. I could almost see the same memories unfolding inside his mind. The guardian hadn’t finished. “Every abandoned camp.”

It was an awful feeling. I could barely speak without gritting my teeth. "Stop messing with me… I'm just a security guard. If my superior finds out, I could lose my job." Ms. Bombshell chuckled. She wrapped her hand around my manhood through my pants, gently squeezing it. "Think about it, Mr. Ziegler. Do you want me to give you a hand, or would you rather keep your boring job?" Her hand was small, but her grip was frightening. I found myself slowly melting away in her grasp.

Anders sharp intake of breath is similar to my reaction to seeing her gold eyes the first time. “You’re a Guardian.” He says in awe before looking at me. It takes a moment, then I see the realization sink in. “Shit.” He whispers. “Yeah, shit.” I echo his response. He begins pacing the room, his hand running through his hair. “I need to confirm that the previous Guardian has died. Their pack is on the other side of the country, but we had heard that they were having issues with a neighboring pack. I didn’t think it had gotten out of hand enough that a Guardian’s life would be in danger.” He continues pacing.

He shrugs like it’s no big deal. But I know that a guardian disappearing with their alpha is a big deal. Disappearing like that gives birth to doubt in the system on which we are founded. These missing guardians are dead or they discovered something I seem to be missing. “You won’t find them,” I say, glancing at Samuel. “We will,” he assures us. “Who do you have on assignment?” “Jeremy, Tank, Sergio, and the rest of their normal circle.” I laugh loudly. All three men look at me like I’m crazy and I shake my head.

You need to hurriedly shower, and go meet them" My gossip friend shrieked, and pulled me to stand up "I know that you might be tired, but swears all three of them are the personal guards of each Royal individual" she explained further to me who was dozing off while moving to the direction of the bathroom.

The old man's answer came quietly. "Chains." Lucien looked toward the mountain, then back at him. "And how many before everything falls apart?" The Guardian hesitated long enough for everyone to fear the answer. "Three." The word settled over the camp like another layer of snow. Astrid recovered first. Her hand tightened around the hilt of her sword. "Then we stop the third one." The Guardian gave a tired shake of his head. "You can't stop something you can't reach." "I didn't ask whether it would be easy."
