he taunted me making me curl my fist in anger. "Don't even try to compare me with you. I don't play with people's lives like you do to satisfy your sadistic needs. I don't enjoy seeing people in pain as you do and that's why I'm trying to get both the parts of the power of attorney papers by being the maid of the person I hate so much" I said in anger while glaring into his predatory eyes. His jaw clenched even more and his eyes burned in anger after listening to my words full of resentment.

They were all adjusted alphabetically. He then randomly picked a book. ‘If I had your Face – By Frances Cha’ He read the title. He opened the book. On the first page, there was her name and a date written. The date when she either got the book or started reading it. He flipped through the pages. She had underlined some context. Marked notes somewhere. Scribbled replies to some lines. He laughed to himself. There was this line she had highlighted, “In New York, you can talk to anyone about anything at any time and have a conversation so long you'll fall a little in love with that person, and then never see them again.”

Julian’s POV I watched her walk off, clutching her book in one hand as she stormed off ‘I was just trying to be a good professor’ I thought to myself as a smirk formed on my face. I quickly recollected myself and packed up to go home, to my father’s house, that is. “We are gathered here to read Master Billy Cawthorn’s will” I heard the lawyer say. “Sorry I’m late” I said casually, walking down to where my step mother and her children sat.

“I promise to bring justice to her. Hit me all you want. Scream at me. But do not ever call me that detestable name that dogs bear.” His sincerity was written fully in his eyes and his voice carried an apology, yet I felt a whirlpool of anger deep within my chest. Without thinking, I hit him on the chest repeatedly, one after the other. “I hate you! I hate you!” I yelled, not out of spite, but pain. Raw pain, unfiltered and burning. “Yes, I deserve all the hate,” he said calmly, holding my hands in place. “Hate me all you want, but I will help you get the people who did this to her.”

he said pulling back putting space between us. " oh and who might that be?" I asked his gaze became hard his golden eyes taking on a shade of red." Don't use your v.a.n.g.u.a.r.d techniques on me raven" he warns." and besides you already know who that is". I sighed " can't you let even one person who's wronged you live" he glanced at me his eyes returning to there natural colour. " I've given you plenty of chances he glanced at me," you used to be one of us but now" he turns away in disgust after looking at me" now your working for them you left me but i understand why you did im not the heartless bastard you think i am"He says.

Did he not feel the same things I felt when we kissed? “Sorry, I- I don’t know why I said that,” I say quietly. He doesn’t reply, but instead turns up the music. I can almost feel his hatred and indifference rolling off of him in waves. I decide to take out my e-reader to kill some time. I stare at the pages, not actually reading anything, hoping that maybe I hallucinated my outburst.
