The Haunting Of Hill House の小説・ストーリー

Hollis**** The mansion’s corridors were a labyrinth of decay, reeking of mildew and forgotten secrets. Each step echoed like a distant scream, and the oppressive silence wrapped around us like a predator waiting to strike. The air was thick, each breath heavy with the stench of rot, and every creak of the floorboards sent a jolt of adrenaline through my veins. I kept my grip firm on Hailey’s hand, her warmth grounding me even as icy dread crept further into my soul.

Like moths to a flame, all sorts of supernaturals are attracted to the Ley line. Becoming assholes is the least of the people of Thorne Hill’s worries. They’re about to become the feast of a demonic army. “How do we close it?” I ask Evander, but the only response I get is a blank stare. “I haven’t the slightest clue,” he finally says. The banshee circles again, screaming so loud it echoes inside our heads, rattling the glass windows of the house.

Just hearing it made the trees outside the window blur like home was hiding behind them. “Give me the rundown again,” William said, eyes still on the road. Alexandra reached for the wrinkled sheet of paper on the dash. “So, about a month ago, this group of teenagers decided to go poking around this supposedly haunted house on the edge of town—” William cut her off. “Haunted by what?” “Allegedly,” she said, “by a spirit who hates women. Legend says it targets girls—hangs them in the rafters.” “Oh,” I said dryly. “Awesome.”

The night ended in sirens and smoke. By the time the police stormed the mansion, Mrs. Hills had already vanished, like a shadow slipping through cracks in the dark. The east wing was in ruins, glass shattered, walls scorched from the small fire she’d started to cover her escape. I sat on the marble steps, wrapped in a blanket I didn’t remember taking, watching the flashing red and blue lights paint the garden like a nightmare that refused to fade. My hands were still trembling, the smell of gunpowder thick in the air.

A home that still held memories and emotions of her broken marriage. She got inside, tears streaming out of her eyes as she slid down to one of the couches. She stood there— seconds passed. Minutes went away and so did the hours. The abrupt thud that came from one of the rooms upstairs was the only thing that piqued her attention. She had another thud along with passing footsteps. Someone was surely in the house with her.

"Where is she?" I shrugged. It was obvious to anyone that I was the only one with my computer screen still turned on and illuminating my face. His question suddenly sounded a little dumb. The next day, when Lacey appeared at the company, she was immediately stopped by Xavier at the door, who had waited up for her all night. He sniffed around Lacey like a bloodhound. Then, his expression turned dark almost at once. "You weren't at the company last night. And this smell didn't come from our home. Where have you been, and what did you do last night?"

Every kindergarten had refused to accept him because of his violent tendencies. On the television, the news was reporting that a woman named Maisie Gray had won ten million dollars in the lottery. At that moment, Zoe suddenly went mad. She grabbed the knife in her hand and stabbed both Lucas and Edwin to death before stabbing herself. When the news reached me, I was drinking coffee in the villa I had just bought overseas. My father was fishing, my mother was tending to her flowers, and my brother was studying in Horvar. I still had a beautiful, happy life ahead of me.

For me, it’s the seventh home in three years. The fog presses closer, nosy and alive, and I can’t shake the feeling that it’s watching me. That the whole town is. Like Hallow’s Edge already knows I’m coming. A dark shape darts across the road ahead. Too fast to be human. The headlights flicker. The engine stutters. A cold ripple slides through the car, raising goosebumps along my arms. “Did you see...” I start. But Ms. Carter doesn’t react. She just keeps humming, oblivious. Of course she didn’t see it. Things like that only ever happen around me.

"The game difficulty has been upgraded. Only high-level ghosts may remain in Happy Home. Mid-level ghosts must evacuate the residential complex immediately." The fatal mechanical voice echoed throughout the entire building. "What?!" Nicole couldn't help but scream. Granny Rosa was the only high-level ghost they could currently access. Without her as a messenger, they would all die here without question. My father and brother's expressions flickered with panic as they paced back and forth, unable to find a way out.

I burst into laughter and I mumbled, "He is insanely crazy." Then I started watching 'Haunting of Hill House.' This was one of my favorite series. I turned all the lights off and lighted my night lamp on. I couldn't stay without light, because I had nyctophobia. I started munching a chocolate bar while watching the series. The secret of the Red room was getting revealed. All of a sudden, a hand was placed over my mouth. I was about to bite the hand and hit that person, but he brought his mouth towards my ears. I heard his steady breathing. "You're still very beautiful, my favorite student," he whispered.
