Hectic. This was the atmosphere at Prince Marvelon's home. Ah, the prince title no longer suited him. King Marvelon was his right name now. His power had grown tremendously overnight. Last night the royal summoning woke me from my slumber. No doubt, it did the same to all the other merfolks on land. King Marvelon, the King of Kings, ruler over land and ocean, ordered a census of merfolks residing on land. Young and old got the order. Even the location of where to collect the royal documents lingered at the forefront of my mind.

A heavy snowfall blankets the Dunkerson castle, its white shroud muting the world into hushed stillness. It’s winter now and things are progressing as planned. Inside the King's chamber, a fire crackles, its warmth fighting against the chill seeping through the stone walls. "Look at this," Gideon says, drawing me toward a window where delicate patterns of frost are painted on the glass. His breath fogs the pane as he traces a flower with his finger. It’s moments like this that he seems like a young child. “A flower for you.”

He had very sensitive hearing, so he was only pretending in front of Hog. “Ahh, that- uhh, they’re just not very happy to see humans.” The chieftain said. It checked out. The goblins were indeed not happy with their arrival despite being their saviour. Matthew did not understand what the goblins were shouting at him, but Potolo and his siblings did.

“I’m not interested in your plans. What I want to know is how I can return to my world!” The king, ignoring my tantrum, shook his head. “Still you don’t believe us, do you?” “No.” I wasn’t easily compelled by his words. I need evidence. Concrete evidence. “As expected,” the king muttered, and then glanced at an arched opening next to the fireplace. From the dark, a man—a wannabe of Sauron with long graying hair and beard, garbed in an emerald-green robe—stepped inside the room. He held a staff—very typical, might I add—with a black stone in the middle, set in a ridiculous golden oval frame.

I continued to stay kneeling though, staying as still as I could, and hoping the floor would open up and swallow me whole. “Stand up child, let me have a good look at you.” The King’s voice rang out again, and goosebumps littered my arms. I slowly stood, and lifted my head to look at the King. King Ben Avon was not exactly what you would expect an evil king to look like. His short stature, rosy face, and plump belly actually made him look more like someone’s grandfather rather than the wicked beast that was depicted in our stories. He even had a bright smile on his face as he looked down at me. The only give away being a sharp glint just hidden behind his dark brown and blue eyes.

The silence that followed was absolute. Slowly, Karlo turned around. The expression on his face wasn't anger, it was a completely blank, hollow, void of pure, unadulterated carnage. The ruthless king who had built an empire on blood had finally revealed his single, fatal weakness to the world. He had tried to hide his little bird, but the hunters had smelled the gold on her gown.

Then a few branches and roots of the trees had paid way, giving an entrance path to the expected visit of the sorceress. Aileen gasped in surprise as she witnessed an extraordinary experience. She thought that this world was truly mystical. From the outside, it had been protected by thorns and venomous snakes guarding the main entrance, just like the myths she heard from Athena. Only those who are invited and share the same blood with the sorceress could find their way to enter. “As the king of this domain, I order you to show yourself! Who are you?” The king drew his sword and pointed it to the aisle. Despite not seeing anyone on the end of the path, he remained vigilant.

But the conversation had planted a seed of doubt and worry in her mind. The maids walked away still chatting animatedly. Isabel took a deep breath and steadied herself. She had to finish her work and return to the kitchen, but the news lingered in her thoughts like a shadow. As she returned to the kitchen with the spices, she noticed Chef Henri watching her closely. "Is everything alright, Isabel?" he asked, his tone concerned. "Yes, Chef. I just..." She paused and breathed, "Haa... I overhead that the princess from the West Kingdom is here to meet the king." she replied, trying to keep her voice steady.

' thought the queen with an uncomfortable expression . " We have no time to fight ! I have something important to tell........to the three of you . " said the king with a serious tone . " Before that , darling , can you tell us what was that creature and where it came from ?! " asked the queen . " Apart from the humans , on earth.......there's another world living in a different dimension which is connected to earth . That world , consists of dragons , demons , goblins , magicians , and other creatures like the one you just saw . The existence of this world is a secret that has been passed down only to the future monarchs of certain kingdoms . We do business with them too . " said the king .
