“What about the maid assigned to that house?” “She only comes and goes, sir. Do you have any orders?” She asked. “No.” I reached the elevator, “Just make sure that every time the maid goes to the house, she isn't with a phone, and she doesn't make any form of contact with the person in the house.” “Uh…" She paused in confusion, and my heart dropped. "Has she already been contacting the maid? How? The security cameras? What's going on?” “I think she slips a note to the maid once in a while.”

I didn’t even open the email–I was reading it straight from the notification: "Congratulations, Miss Lily Serena. You have been selected as an assigned housemaid. You are to serve the young master. Report tomorrow by 7:00 AM with a valid ID, medical report, and minimal personal belongings. Late arrival will result in disqualification. Welcome to Kingsley Empire." I stared at the message, frozen. Disbelieving. Not just because I got the job–but because it was higher than the one I was even hoping for. A personal housemaid to the young master? No matter what, since heaven had given me a second chance at life, I absolutely could not allow the tragedy of my previous life to repeat itself. I ordered one of the maids. She nodded quickly, A few minutes later, all the maids and workers in the house gathered in the living room, everyone stood quietly in front of me. Some looked nervous, some looked curious. And Miriam stood at the corner of the room, watching everything with anger written all over her face. I ignored her completely, I slowly looked around the room before speaking. “As all of you know,” I began, “I am Don’s wife.” The workers nodded. “That means I am also the woman in charge of this house.”

“Now.” The maid bowed quickly and hurried away. Within a few minutes, the quiet mansion began to stir as the staff gathered in the grand living room. The cook arrived first, wiping her hands nervously on her apron. Behind her came the two drivers, both dressed neatly in their uniforms. The gardeners followed then finally, the head housekeeper, Mrs. Winslow, entered the room with steady steps. The staff formed a respectful line, waiting for Mrs. Ainsworth to speak. Chelsea shifted slightly on the sofa as all eyes moved toward her.

Her eyes rolled back, and she fell straight toward the floor. Marissa instantly understood and threw herself forward to hold her. "Sophie! Sophie, wake up! Don't scare me!" But my father had already seen through every performance by the mother and daughter. There was no softness left in his eyes, only cold disgust. "Act. Keep acting. I thought as I arranged my shirts on the rack, according to colours, just how my Mum used to do it. Soon I heard a door opening, I went into the room, but my door was still locked, I still heard movements. I hoped the maids still remembered that this was my wing of the house and nobody was allowed here. I stepped out and noticed the room opposite mine was open, I stepped in and saw the new House maid , Miriam or Mara, I wasn't sure really. She was changing the sheets on the bed and dropping in soaps in the bathroom like someone was coming here. I hoped not. We would frustrate anyone that stayed here until they left, the voice in my head spoke and I completely agreed for once today.

I immediately started to pack my bags so I won’t forget anything I would need in the house,since I would be living there,I need to take most of my necessities with me,and not forget things that are so important to me.
