The Hunted One Novels & Stories

A figure emerged from the tree line—a tall man with the unmistakable confidence of someone who thought he was in control. Benton Nye. I had only seen his picture in the dossier Hana provided on the drive from the farm to the park. His picture had been burned into my mind—a man with sharp features, dark hair, and a smirk that barely concealed his arrogance. The dossier detailed his role as the leader of the American Hunter Association, his calculated brutality, and his obsession with destroying the supernatural and avenging his mentor, Sakina Adio. He didn’t just kill supernatural beings—he studied them, broke them, and experimented on them.

Tonight’s job had been gruesome, one of the worst Ted had had to deal with. Getting information from a rogue wolf about an organized criminal syndicate was a difficult job but as always, Ted was a patient man and his skills for torture were unmatched. It was a quality that made him one of the most respected Hunters in the city. So far he had been able to keep the Don safe from another assassination attempt and while it had been an ugly job, he had tonight and the next few days to forget about the gruesome nature of his job.

Both of them shared a glance before starting to eat. Later, Ivano bid goodbye to Taylah, who took a train back to her city. As soon as he saw her off, he returned to his company and ordered the country’s top-notch hackers to find out who started it. “Are you nuts, Ivano?” Zander burst through the door, only to witness Ivano’s rage simmering in his glare. “What do you want?” Ivano asked. “You’ve gone crazy, Ivano… You hired top-notch hackers to find those people… throwing money around like water. Man, the next match is next week, and no one has stepped forward to sponsor us.”

My pulse was hammering so hard I could feel it in my throat. Hunters weren’t your average mercenaries. They didn’t care about pack politics or rogue rivalries — they were zealots. They believed in purging anything supernatural. Wolves, witches, hybrids. People like me. The first arrow came out of nowhere, whistling past my ear before embedding itself into the metal door of a rusted van. The impact vibrated up my bones. I didn’t even have time to scream before the second one hit Kellen’s shoulder. He grunted, staggering forward but refusing to go down. Roman doubled back, shoving me behind a stack of crates.

Before he wanted to avoid prying eyes, he had taken the secret elevator. "What's going on?" Milan said as entered. Jeremy's clothes were already ripped and he was shifting already. Milan, seeing this, was so scared and he moved back. "The meat!" Adrian shouted. This time, it didn't take too much of time before Hunt was standing before them with his eyes glowing in bright yellow. The two men were so scared as they saw the huge beast standing before them. It looked so fierce. Hunt rushed to them and the cooler Milan held fell because of how scared he was. The content in it fell with the blood spilling everywhere. Hunt paused, seeing the raw meat and immediately pounced on it.

I nodded, swallowing the lump in my throat. The first Elder’s voice carried a weight of centuries as he spoke the words: “The Chosen One has awakened. And with her, so does the Hunt.” Silence. A cold chill seeped into the room. Xavier clenched his fists. I swallowed. “The Hunt?” The woman’s voice was almost gentle. “Those who seek to sacrifice you.”

Especially if the omega wore that yellow band. Within five minutes, the forest was filled with muted screams as the first of the prey were being caught. Over 3,000 omegas had started in this year's hunt. Based on the new rules, every omega in the Hunt had a corresponding hunter searching for her, waiting to drag her off to a new life in a new tribe. To catch and claim your mate, you had to mark her. That meant biting her neck in possession. The combination of a bite, along with the adrenaline and endorphins of the chase meant most prey passed out from the overload to their system. The hunter had to then carry their prey back to the castle before it was official. Almost all of the hunters dra

The hunt night was exhilarating for her as she finally had peacefully killed her prey, hearing his sobs, his cries, threats and pleads even. Begging for his corrupt life and even trying to bribe his way out but nothing would've satisfied Maya except for the death of someone who sucked the blood of innocents.

Arrows sang through the smoke like whispers meant to kill. Jet made a break for it but before he could escape something faster struch him. Thwack!—an arrow nailed him to a wooden beam. He screamed once before another arrow found his throat. The room vanished into smoke. White tendrils coiled around broken pillars. Shadows flickered fast, quiet, merciless. Three figures stepped into the storm like ghosts walking through fire. The first tall, coat snapping at his heels, steel in his eyes didn’t slow. Calvin Hunt. The man whose name made wolves flinch. Custom shotgun in hand, still smoking.
