"How… how on earth?" She muttered in disbelief. "He breathes no more," Sebastian said with no emotion. The late emperor's skeleton figure started back at their horrified faces.

Those ranks below the Emperor have their lifespans bound accordingly. From this moment on, all living beings below the Emperor level were no longer immortal.
