Then I sat back and read it again slowly the way I read things that required full processing rather than reaction. The report was comprehensive. The investigator had done what I paid him to do, which was find things that weren't meant to be found and organize them into a format that was useful rather than merely interesting. He had been thorough and specific and the specific thoroughness of his work was now sitting in front of me like a set of facts that I needed to decide what to do with. The facts were these.

Laci said. "Julianna is an investigator and that is what she knows how to do best. Investigators are a very determined set of people who go for what they want without looking back. And if they should find someone suspicious, they won't rest till they have confirmed their suspicion. I think that's what she's trying to do and I am sure that Henry is innocent," I said, trying to make her see my point. "I'm scared," She muttered but it was loud enough for me to hear.

The investigator had beady eyes, but they were piercing. He watched me like he read my thoughts, or like he was just waiting for me to trip up and trap myself. “Who are you?” I asked, pretending I didn’t know. “An investigator from the Official Research Facility on Projection.” He didn’t offer a name. Was he attempting to intimidate me? If so, it was working. “Why would you want to talk to me?” I asked. “We are investigating Nurse Irene from the hospital. We have reason to believe that she has a patient with the projection ability, but is keeping it a secret. Those with projection are to be immediately reported to us.”

Peter asks as soon as he realises who this man was, he was hoping and praying that he wasn’t about to tell him some bad news. “Sadly no, but I just wanted to let you know that I have been assigned as lead investigator for this case and I can assure you, that I will do everything in my power to work out what’s happened and hopefully bring them back home.” He says with a smile to try and ease some of Peter's stress, but his comment only makes Peter worry and angry at the same time.

An investigator sitting across from her folded his arms, with a few words of disbelief written on his face: "What about the culprit's education and family background? How do you explain that? I can see..." "Jin." The Chief Inspector waved his hand, interrupting his doubts: "Parker is a criminal psychological profiling expert after all." He was a tall man with a sharp, angular face like a knife, calm and resolute. He was now glancing sideways at Parker, half-smiling. Even if he was just an ordinary person who knew nothing about micro-expressions, he could still feel the disdain from his demeanor. Parker squinted her eyes, realizing that it was Investigator Conal of City C Police Department.

I answered, my voice rough. "You've got eyes on you," my investigator said. "And not the usual kind. It looks like Someone's high profile is asking questions about your movements, your recent phone calls, money changes,and even travel. They're trying to be subtle. But I know a clean cover when I see one and I have eyes everywhere so believe me when I say you're being investigated" he finally finished, taking a deep breath. I set the mug down. "Do you have a name? A face?"

I needed to find out what really happened to Ashton and how to protect Ashley in the process. It was surprising to say the least how I’d come a long way from wanting to deal with Ashley after finding out about to swap to wanting to protect her from any and everything. Arriving at the investigator’s office, I stepped inside, the familiar scent of stale coffee and the hum of fluorescent lights greeting me. The investigator, a grizzled man named Sam, looked up from his cluttered desk as I approached. “Thorne,” he greeted, motioning for me to sit. “I’ve gone through the information you sent. It’s a tangled web, to say the least.”

Grandpa Gomez cursed. "At least we've found evidence that can spin the attention off you. They don't have a case with the evidence I've been able to gather." The investigator said with pride. "Alright, I'll go over them and inform you on our next action." Grandpa Gomez said, a knot forming in his stomach. "Of course, I'll leave you to it." The msj said and excused himself. Grandpa Gomez watched as his investigator exited his study and he sighed out loud.

They turned when she stirred. “Good morning,” Elaine said gently. “Sleep well?” Sophia nodded, rubbing her eyes. “I didn’t mean to fall asleep.” “You needed it,” Daniel said. “And you’ll need more. Because we’ve got news.” She sat up. “What?” James stepped forward. “We’ve hired an investigator. Silas Thorne. One of the best. He’s going to look into everything — the fire, the fake technician, the IV switch. Every detail. Every timeline. Every person connected to that night.”

my investigator said, chuckling. "So, it seems like we have a lead," I said, my mind racing with possibilities. "Yes, my alpha," my investigator replied. "But we need to be careful. We don't know what we're up against." "I understand," I said. "But I need to find out what happened to Aurora's children. They're my children too." "I'll keep digging, my alpha," my investigator said. "But in the meantime, I think it would be best if you kept a low profile. We don't know who's behind this or what their motives are."
