Chelsea smiled, satisfied, as her fingers tightened around the polished obsidian stone she wore on a chain. “Jalen doesn’t even realize he’s mine already. With a whisper, I can make him move, make him speak. He thinks his thoughts are his own—but I’m in there. Twisting.”
She moved to the tall mirror propped against the wall. Its glass shimmered unnaturally, as if rippling with liquid silver.
