The City of Echoes was finally reaching its end. Thomas felt an unexpected sadness. Not grief. Not exactly. Just the quiet ache that comes from leaving something behind forever. The gateway flickered one final time. Then vanished. Gone. No explosion. No dramatic farewell. Just silence. As though it had never existed. The wind swept through the mountains. The only evidence of the city remained in Thomas's pocket. A single silver coin. Nothing more. "Well," Rowan said softly. "I guess that's that." Nobody disagreed. The journey was over.

We all shift into our wolves and run back to the pack as soon as we hit the borders I link the twins and let them know I’m heading home to check on my family and I’ll meet them at the pack house for dinner.
