I couldn't wait for a "perfect plan." ​I grabbed a pair of heavy fabric shears from the seamstress's table. I didn't care about the wedding. I didn't care about the gala. ​I looked up at the security camera in the corner of the room. I knew Julian was watching. I blew a kiss at the lens, a cold, dead smile on my face. ​I had forty-eight hours to kill a king. And I was going to start with his heart.

King shouts before turning and sitting beside her. On realizing that Emma's heartbeat is fading, he becomes restless. He continued shouting her name, begging her to open her eyes and look at him. But neither she opens her eyes nor does any movement. "I won't ever hurt you again. Please get up." He talks to the unconscious Emma. "Open your eyes, damn it!" He yells as her heartbeat is fading away slowly. "You can't leave me, okay!" He yells again but Emma doesn't get up. King quickly licks her wound to not let any more blood get out of the holes. He feels himself burning as he sees those huge punchers in her skin.

My hand moved up and down his back, brushing him. Nothing was said after, me just enjoying being right next to him, enjoying the sound of his heart and breath. My head tipped up, the door just there, having me sigh. We came to a standstill, me turning to face him as he turned to stare at me too. His hands cupped my face, stealing my heart and everything in me as I melted in his arms. The king’s smirk grew, taking joy in the way I reacted to him. His head came down, his lips coming down on mine where he took me around the world. My eyes were closed, toes curling with every part of my body tingling. His kisses were magical, making me feel things that left me out of breath. The king pulled away

Silence. Dangerous silence. The Queen hesitated. And that hesitation alone terrified everyone. The King laughed softly. “There it is.” He spread his chained arms slightly. “The truth buried beneath every Lunar lie.” Silver energy exploded violently through the underground district again as the sanctuary reacted unpredictably to the growing emotional instability surrounding the Heart. Kael rubbed his forehead. “Can one ancient person answer a question normally?” The King ignored him entirely. His eyes remained fixed on Aria. “The Heart does not create bonds from love.”

Silvia remembered when the King came to her with Keanna in his arms the night of the rebellion with blood on her. “I’m leaving this lady in your arms, Silvia. She has her heart on her sleeve, you’ll see everything in her eyes.” A man who has never opened his heart to anyone and a woman who embraces her feelings. I will hold her close to my heart, King Neil. She smiled as she made that silent promise. “If my lady says the word, the King will immediately fill the entire room with gold, silver, and treasures.” Keanna was confused for a moment, wondering why the King would do such a thing if she asked.

The girl frowned. " Debbie once said they danced together at a party. She wouldn't stop praising his good looks," "I know, we heard that story the whole year," the other young lady giggled. " What else do you know about him?" " Other than what you know, nothing. The king keeps his life private despite being on the throne for seven years." I listened to the girls converse about the alpha king, and what they said shocked me. They made him sound like a monster, and a shiver went down my spine.

As if no one had ever offered him this choice before. "And if I refuse?" he asked. "If I take your mates anyway, and keep the crown, and keep the shadow?" "Then I will use the heart," I said. "I will speak your name. I will unmake you. I will die with you. But I will not let you have them." I reached for the stone heart. It flew from the king's hand to mine, its pale blue light blazing, warm against my palm. The king's name burned on my tongue, ancient and terrible, the name that had been waiting in my blood since Marcus marked me.

For a fraction of a second, his silver eyes turned pitch-black before snapping back to silver. ​The First King lunged blindly for the key, but Lyra recoiled out of reach, his fingers catching nothing but empty air. ​"You don't understand!" the king roared over the din. "If that heart enters the throne, it will recognize the bloodline!" ​"And then?" ​"It will open for him!" ​"For Cael?" ​The king's face twisted in horror. "No." He pointed a shaking finger at the child. "For him."

The royal doctors were chanting someth ing as they continued their treatment. " Wait! The wounds aren't healing?" Pa Yang asked with a hint of terror and fear in his voice as his mind was already having weird thoughts and he was subconsciously sweating as his heart beat faster than regular. The king too noticed the same thing and his body trembled violently " It's it's it's not working!" The king whispered. He looked at Alex's heart and realised the thing protecting his heart and powering it had disappeared and his heart was no longer breathing... " My Son... My Son... My son... is already dead..."
