Hectic. This was the atmosphere at Prince Marvelon's home. Ah, the prince title no longer suited him. King Marvelon was his right name now. His power had grown tremendously overnight. Once again, I glanced at my people and I knew the answer. “A king is a servant of its people.” Claps and praises echoed in the hall. They weren’t expecting that answer from me. The world referred King as ruler. In my opinion, the ruling meant controlling and showing dominance. I wasn’t that kind of king nor did I want to be. King is the one who serves, not rule. Growing up, I was told that true king nurtures, protects and defends its people. That was exactly what I wanted to be. A true king.

I exclaimed, twirling on my feet, my eyes sparkling with excitement. The king walked towards me, his long strides devouring the distance. He took the book from my hands, his fingers brushing against mine. "Indeed it does," he murmured, his voice low and soothing. "It's a story book." "A story book?" I repeated, my voice filled with longing. "I wish I could read it..." I trailed off, picking up other books as well and flipping through their pages. They all had pictures in them, and that made me incredibly happy.

II Among the endless pile of books the Dead King sat, who eagerly searched for something in the Sagna Ifegniar. The book was probably older than the fort itself, but not older than him, at the same time not looking older than a couple of years even though it had been centuries since it was written. The pages moved on their own, flipping fast, then slowing, then stopping. Symbols burned faintly across the paper, glowing warmly like embers under ash.
