The two of us walked inside and she nodded at the librarian. The woman did not even bother getting up. It was as if she was aware of our presence. She was aware of what we were here for. Maybe she was.

Even though she was disappointed of him for wasting his time and now struggling with the preparation yet her eyes looked over his face with admiration. "Everyone has gone!" he told himself more than asking her. The short haired librarian smiled witha nod of head answering his question non verbally. "Ohh well, then I must leave too. Thanks for letting me sit here for so long, ma'am." Thanking her for her help that she provided during the search for the necessary books and other reasons too, Alex accumulated her stuff.

Writing, that's the only one thing that keeps me sane. I doubled up my steps so as to hide myself from the eyes of people. "Finally " I whispered softly, as I opened the old rusty door of the Library. Mrs Lola, the librarian held on to a clipboard and marker, as she bent over to cross examine some books on the monstrous bookshelves that looked like they could collapse anytime. As usual I am the only one who comes into the library this early. She nodded her head briefly like an agama lizard, I didn't fail to get the signal. It simply means I will be with you shortly.

She peered down at me from her height, but she didn’t intimidate me. “Who are you?” I blurted out before I could stop myself. Her shoulders moved in motion as she tried to stop herself from laughing. “I am Mina, the head Librarian here. I’ve been waiting for you.” “Waiting for me? I don’t understand.” “I’ve been a librarian for nearly a thousand years my child, head librarian here for a few hundred, and we’ve never found anyone before. Before you that is, I’m quiet intrigued as to what you bring to this world. We could do with some change.” She winked at me.

Lizz said, furling her eyebrows in thought. “Well yeah, does seem odd…hang on, what did you call your boss?” Rex asked, changing his topic when he heard the words ‘curator’ like he had heard that title somewhere before. “Your idea of exciting and mine are two different things girl” Nessa said with a slight chuckle and an eye roll. Pinching her face to Nessa, she turned to face Rex, “She is the Head Librarian, Curator Ocron, she is in charge of the great library here.”

Asked the woman near him. “I’m replacing the late Mr. Herald.” By the look on their face, it seemed Mr. Herald’s name was unpopular among these women, hence Lucas elaborated. “I work in the library as the new librarian.” In the library, Mrs. Letty taught Lucas about how the ins and outs of a book, she also introduced Lucas to all the library staff. Which only consist of the head of library, two librarians (included himself), and one cleaner whose job also as manual worker.

And the list got halved, there were only two who didn't give books back to the library, a young girl and a mid aged man. She asked the librarian for the last favour, she wanted him to give the personal information of those two members like their house address or mobile number. The librarian refused to tell at first he said it's not in our policy to share the personal information with others. Jenny tried to give a good tip to the librarian and there he couldn't refuse. Every time that the kind librarian will discover new books or had new book donations, she was guaranteed to be the first one to know and borrow them. Reading helps her relax and, even for a while, escape everything. Once in a while, she also enjoys thinking that her day is just another chapter of her very own life novel, and another chapter is ending again just like how her shift is supposed to be ending now. She was already on her way back to their staff room when she got tangled in the most unexpected thing to happen just right before her shift ends—a crazy man is about to jump off the balcony! What the holy fudge?!

The school library is my small haven of peace. The old books stocked on the shelves are nicely arranged by the librarian, Ms Spinster. That's her real name. She's an old white spinster with a heart as black as ink. Probably the reason she's not married. I've never liked her because she's racist. It's precisely 11.00 am and I'm just seated on the wooden chair reading my notes.
